Publisher's Summary

"This story was inspired by a remark of Mark Twain's to the effect that it was a pity that the best part of life came at the beginning and the worst part at the end. By trying the experiment upon only one man in a perfectly normal world I have scarcely given his idea a fair trial. Several weeks after completing it, I discovered an almost identical plot in Samuel Butler's 'Note-books.'"

Sketchy narration, INCOMPLETE

Narration is halting and pronunciation is a struggle. Doesnt even finish the work. How can you justify charging me for a partial book?

"Timely" for the times

Please remember that this novel was written in another time, another mindset and keep that mindset first and foremost as you read to get the most from it. A glimpse into the past, with few apologies for how things WERE and have changed since written, it STILL rings true that people DO change with the times - and that those who hesitate are a part of the natural environment, From start to finish, the story walks a very fine !ine between things that have CHANGED in society since the novel was written (as well as WHY) and some things remain the same, in the story-line.. A good read, it should NOT be updated to reflect changes made and why, but stands alone to accurately reflect the way things once WERE.

Very Poor Quality Recording

As the headline says, quality of recording is very poor. Sound fades in and out, 20% to 30% of the words being unintelligible. Why waste your time and our offering this defective recording for download. I will be requesting a refund.
