Pledging the top fraternity on campus is supposed to be a dream. For freshman Cole, it’s a nightmare. He only wants to honor his late father’s legacy, but the brutal hazing rituals of Omega Chi Rho are designed to break the weak—and Cole is beginning to see a darkness in the brotherhood that goes far beyond cruel pranks.

Something ancient and hungry stalks the woods bordering the campus.

When a pledge vanishes during a terrifying late-night trial, the brothers close ranks, forcing Cole into a terrifying silence. He soon discovers that the disappearance is not an accident, but part of a century-old tradition. This fraternity doesn't just make men; it makes sacrifices.

A final, savage ritual in the forest becomes a bloodbath, and the few who escape find their sanctuary has become a trap. The house is under siege from a monster that can walk through walls, an intelligent predator that is now hunting them one by one.

Trapped with a secret that could destroy them all, Cole must fight to survive the night and expose a legacy of blood. But the price of this brotherhood is steeper than he could ever imagine.

Okay, I get that Ethan Blackwood will not shy away from killing any and all characters, such as the heroic characters, the funny characters, the cute gay characters, even the adorable puppy… actually, he’ll not shy away from killing everyone in the entire world the story takes place in if… if it gets him his big-super-dark-insane ending. I get that Ethan really wanted to have the boys dressed only in their underwear fighting off the giant Bigfoot/monster/demon as it lay siege to the huge gothic frat house and everything all ends up utterly destroyed… yeah i understand that. What I was bothered by where the leaps in logic. It bothered me why none of the new pledges didn’t call 911? I know the frat-boys told them they didn’t want to get in any “trouble”. Hmmm… buuuut… isn’t fighting off a homicidal Bigfoot-monster keen on ripping them all to pieces …that’s not trouble enough? What were they afraid of by that time? Maybe the Dean would find out and cancel their charter with the collage? Still, it was entertaining and I stayed for the entire audiobook
