What if time isn't real—and reality is moving faster than you realize?

From strange weather and restless nights to days that seem to vanish in the blink of an eye, something about our world feels different. In The Time Illusion, Daphne Anne Sotheby explores a bold question most of us have never dared to ask:

What if time is not what we've been told it is?

Blending philosophy, science, spirituality, and real-world observation, this thought-provoking book explores the possibility that time is a human construct—and that modern society has chosen to accelerate it.

Discover the signs all around us, the systems driving us faster, and the hidden cost of living in a world addicted to speed. Through 23 compelling chapters, you'll examine how our perception of reality has changed and why so many people feel that life is moving faster than ever before.

If you've ever felt like life is racing ahead, the seasons are out of sync, or you're losing your connection to the present moment, this book will challenge everything you thought you knew.

The Time Illusion invites you to question assumptions, explore new perspectives, and rediscover the value of presence in an increasingly accelerated world.

Inside, you'll discover:

A fascinating exploration of time as a human construct

Why modern life feels increasingly accelerated

The connection between technology, perception, and awareness

New ways to understand aging, memory, and the present moment

Thought-provoking insights into reality, consciousness, and meaning

Step beyond the clock.

Challenge what you've been taught about time, reality, and the pace of modern life. Whether you're a seeker, thinker, philosopher, or simply someone searching for a deeper understanding of the world, The Time Illusion offers a journey that may forever change how you experience your life.

The Time Illusion was a fascinating and thought-provoking listen. I really enjoyed the way it explores our perception of time and how easily our minds can make time feel faster, slower, or completely different depending on what we are experiencing.

The Audible narration made the material easy to follow and kept my attention throughout. I especially liked the practical ideas about becoming more aware of how we spend our time instead of constantly feeling like there is never enough of it.

This audiobook gave me a lot to think about and made me look at my daily routines and priorities a little differently. It’s an interesting choice for anyone who enjoys psychology, personal growth, and learning more about how the human mind works.

Overall, a fascinating and worthwhile listen that left me thinking about time long after I finished it.

This audiobook gave me a lot to think about, especially the idea that our experience of time can be shaped by modern life. I liked how it connects technology, memory, aging, and our attention to the feeling that life is moving faster than it used to. Some of the ideas are definitely outside the usual way of thinking about time, but that is also what makes the book interesting. The discussion about being more present stood out to me because it feels very relevant to everyday life. Overall, this was a thought-provoking listen that encouraged me to slow down and look at time and reality from a different perspective.

What a wake up call! This hits you hard in how our phones and constant rushing make every day blur together into one big and fast mess. The narrator does a fantastic job explaining the science of human perception with really showing how modern tech hacks our brains to make years feel like weeks. It completely changed how I look at my daily screen time and made me want to slow down and actually notice the moments passing instead of just racing through my to do list.

This book should be a necessary read for everyone. It makes you look at the way you are living, and wanting to change it. Most of us are just living day to day doing the same routine and it feels like that time has disappeared. This book makes so much sense.
