concept and dialog

I think the concept is really cool i enjoy the toxin premise, but the dialog plus the chosen tone of each character makes this book a rough read.

ike plays with his food

I understand the necessity of not being a murder hobo and why he needs to be hidden but he makes alot of foolish mistakes. #1, he knows his toxin is a handful and he doesnt want to kill his friends. He shouldn't fight them at all given his lack of control, so if anything related to his power occurs, it shouldn't be around them. 2# telling his friends in the way he did was dumb and heathe, while being lovable pushing for a secret that isn't his, only makes sense because of ikes foolishness. 3# Rockhead being a patsy for someone else was predictable, as was the Alliance being lazy in guarding his sister, he was and still is took lax in protecting or seeking the protection of those he claims matter to him. all that being said, I genuinely enjoyed this book and it's take on the systems. im hoping Ike grows into a more lethal and calculating individual who deals with his problems and doesnt allow them to get worse.

to much is wrong

(Spoilers) Every chapter has a repeating audio track, so clearly no one listened to it before putting it only.
the main character is a slow learner and with no common sense. whines to much, hides things from his friends, and what kind of accent is that? Not to mention, what the heck was that stupid side story and them needed to know if the noble lady that tried to kill them is going to be executed? Who cares their whole life is a fight to survive, one lady who may or may not try to kill them again is not worth 2ish hours of our time to hear about their "Need to know" BS trauma. with toxins like his a solo role with prep time with have moved the story along and allowed him to progress fast with less of friendly fire. 3 outta 10.
