The Prodigal Peer.

Lucien, Marquess of Lynnfield, disappeared from the family seat nearly a decade ago, and now he's back, ready to take his inheritance in hand. Questions swirl: Where was he? Why return now? What sort of man has he become? Lucien can't offer much in the way of explanations. All he knows is, the dearest companion of his youth, Lady Penelope Richard, is being courted by a handsome cad, and Lucien cannot allow her ladyship to waste her future on a scoundrel.

Or the return of the rogue?

Penelope hasn't seen Lucien for years, but she's been too angry with him for abandoning her to forget him. He broke her heart when he left the first time, and she is quite, entirely, completely over him–almost–until old passion stir backs to life, hotter and more dangerous than ever. If Lucien and Penelope are to share their hearts as well as searing kisses, they will have to fight their own worst fears and outwit an enemy who will do anything to keep them apart.

As usual, Grace Burrowes did not disappoint! There were great MC’s, complex family relationships, wonderful side characters, and a good love story. But I think my favorite part are the references to characters from previous books and series. For anyone who is a fan of the Windham series, look for a great cameo from the Duke and Duchess of Moreland near the end. There was also a reference to a French doctor working for the English army (Lady Violet series) and a French wine merchant from the Mischief in Mayfair series. The narrator, James Langton did a fantastic job especially with the male voices, giving each one a unique intonation, so they were easy to distinguish from each other.

Couldn’t wait for this book to be released!

Grace Buddies and James La from are a dynamic duo. Grace has a brilliant imagination and her stories are filled with hu.or and warmth. But, it's the characters that set her books apart. great characters make for gripping and often funny dialog. James Langdon does a great job in interpreting Grace's stories and giving life to her characters.

The characters

engaging characters, good story, Regency period, continuing characters from earlier books. James Langton is a marvelous voice actor not just a reader. A real performance which brings the characters alive.
please don't ever try to replace him with some wimpy narrator or heaven help us an A I voice !

Good story and characters
