Resident risks life fighting Enmore restaurant fire

A fire broke out at a restaurant storage unit on Enmore Road, Newtown, at approximately 7:40pm, filling the street with smoke and drawing attention from nearby diners and concert-goers. A neighbouring resident, Paul Pickett, climbed out of his window with a fire extinguisher in an attempt to control the blaze before firefighters arrived and quickly extinguished it. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remains unknown, with no indication of suspicious circumstances at this stage.
