NSW GPs to diagnose and treat ADHD under landmark trial

New South Wales is launching a landmark trial enabling 600 GPs to diagnose and treat ADHD in adults and children from March. The reforms will significantly reduce wait times of 3-12 months and costs of hundreds to thousands of dollars that patients currently face. The initiative is expected to particularly benefit patients in regional and rural areas who previously had limited access to ADHD diagnosis and treatment.
