not the best battletech but not the worst

The story is tight and action packed, but the plot is relatively thin. I've read worse battletech books..and better ones.

A great followup to A Question of Survivial

Story: Really good sequel to the previous book, I probably actually like this one more. The character progressions are excellent, and I was on the edge of my seat at one point wanting to know what happens next. One complaint about the story, there are 2 locations/stories going on in the 2nd half of the book. And I felt the story switched between the 2 views too frequently. Anytime it was getting good, SWITCH. I get the point about hooking people to keep them interested, but it was too often IMO.

Readers: Still dont like them, specifically the guy. But it was better in this book. Not sure if I just got more used to it doing these 2 books back to back, or if they improved their performance on the 2nd book. Either way, their performance hurts the book.

A fantastic installment of BattleTech

What I love most about this new era of BattleTech is how evolved the clans have become. It’s more mature and nuanced. My only complaints about this come in the performance. Mispronunciations of names like Henrique or making Katie Ferraro sound like that…. Those were definitely choices…

A YA battletech for the modern audience

Been reading the fiction and playing the game for nearly 40 years and this is possibly the worst slop I've had the misfortune to experience. The story is not very deep and childishly written with modern day slang and phrases throughout, as well as all the voice acting being extremely sub-par.
