Another hit!

Fantastic listen from Tana Stone. Can’t wait for the next one. I laughed out loud several times and sighed at the end when all was well with lovers world. Also thrilled with the epilogue showing us who the next couple will be.

Second strike means I’m close to outta here

The promised “one part Devil Wears Prada and two parts Men in Black” grossly oversold this mild holiday romcom. Book two brings yet another white socialite humble-bragging about how she’s so over her family’s status fixation … meanwhile cooing over a Prada dress and her hot fake boyfriend, who’s a prince, so take that mom! There’s zero depth to either of them and nothing but a few cliches (carriage ride and NY eve ball drop) before the professions of love. 🙄

The best thing about the story was the drag queens, yet as I listened to this 99% white story, I couldn’t help think this was just a tweak of the gay best friend trope. The next FMC for this series is, yep, another white girl. Is there a minority or LGBTQ MC in any of this authors many, many romances? If not, then using drag queens as jokes wasn’t respectful. I may be going from finding this series harmlessly shallow to unfortunately toxic.
