One part The Devil Wears Prada, two parts Men in Black, a sprinkle of Hallmark holiday movie sweetness, and a whole lot of heat.
Meet Olivia, a savvy personal shopper with a knack for avoiding commitment and a dreaded annual party to dodge. Her mother's swanky New Year's Eve bash is as unavoidable as her parents' questions about her personal life.
Enter Ruune, a charming alien prince with a reputation for loving and leaving across the galaxy. His arrival in New York could cause issues for the Valorian's new treaty with Earth, especially if he starts breaking hearts.
Their solution? A fake relationship to shock Olivia's judgmental mother and keep Ruune out of intergalactic trouble. But as they navigate carriage rides, dirty charades, and the glittering world of New York's elite, will their pretend romance turn into something real?
Can Olivia let down her guard and trust an alien with her heart? Will Ruune finally find a reason to stop running? And what happens when their charade is over?
With meddling drag queens, designer dog wardrobes, and plenty of rom-com holiday fun, New Year's with an Alien is a heartwarming alien romance that proves love truly is universal. Book two in the Holidays with an Alien sci-fi romcom series!

Another hit!

The best thing about the story was the drag queens, yet as I listened to this 99% white story, I couldn’t help think this was just a tweak of the gay best friend trope. The next FMC for this series is, yep, another white girl. Is there a minority or LGBTQ MC in any of this authors many, many romances? If not, then using drag queens as jokes wasn’t respectful. I may be going from finding this series harmlessly shallow to unfortunately toxic.
Second strike means I’m close to outta here
