Acerca de esta escucha
Emotional intelligence affects all aspects of our lives—personal, professional, and everyday events. Whether navigating personal transitions and goals, managing conflict, building relationships, or leading your teams or family, we all traverse an unpredictable world, and no matter our level of success, we face setbacks and challenges.
In The Emotional Intelligence and Resilience Handbook: Practical Tools for Growth, Connection, and Leadership for Everyone, Coach Shirita Nash guides with a “mirror and compass” using 10 specific self-paced topics to help you explore how emotional intelligence and resilience can become essential tools for weathering life’s storms, uncovering strength, and navigating unforeseen turns on your continuous journey of growth and connection. You might already be thriving—but still seeking ways to lead a more fulfilling life.
This audiobook equips you with practical tools grounded in emotional intelligence: self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, social skills, and motivation.
Packed with actionable insights, it’s designed to help you deepen your understanding of yourself, strengthen your relationships, and navigate challenges with confidence and resilience.
By applying a theoretical foundation to practical reflection and activity prompts from her repertoire as a personal coach, organizational development professional, and personal growth advocate with over twenty years of experience, Coach Shirita Nash has written a handbook to implement manageable but effective techniques to take listeners from self-awareness—the first stepping stone toward emotional intelligence—to resilience.
Through carefully selected stories, quotes, research, examples, and systematic processes, she illustrates methods for identifying unique patterns while learning to “surf the waves of chaos” with intention and purpose.

Life-changing and Impactful
I can't express how transformative this book has been for me! I was captivated by the engaging writing style and the insightful anecdotes that make complex concepts relatable and easy to grasp.
The author does a phenomenal job of breaking down the components of emotional intelligence, highlighting its importance not just in our personal lives but also in our professional interactions. I found myself taking notes as I listened to the impact of self-awareness and empathy on relationships. It's incredible how understanding emotions can lead to more meaningful connections with friends, family, and colleagues.
It’s abundantly clear that the author has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field, and her passion for the subject shines through.
If you’re looking to enhance your emotional intelligence or simply want to understand yourself and others better, I wholeheartedly recommend this book! It's not just a read; it's an investment in your personal growth. Thank you to the author for such a profound and enlightening experience!

Top 5 Takeaways
1. This is a personal/professional development book that gives the reader the freedom and flexibility to choose their own path as they explore each chapter. Although I read the book in sequential order, I can and will choose chapters that are relevant to current happenings in my career and life.
2. The use of personal narratives to set the stage and ground the reader within the context of the content discussed, made the application of the content very relatable. I found myself reflecting on my own experiences and how I could apply the strategies to them.
3. Empathy as a superpower resonated with me because it is a great tool for people management and interpersonal relationships.
4. “The two most important days in your life are the day you were born and the day you find out why.” Discovering your why is never easy. “A winding yellow brick road of detours, discoveries, and the eventual clarity that comes from embracing the unexpected.” This is life. This is my life, and this may be the life of many. The guidance and strategies discussed for navigating the nonlinear events of life that can lead us to our purpose were beneficial. Often times we start our journey thinking we’re on a particular path but things change. Strategies for developing the emotional intelligence necessary to embracing change along this journey are key.
5. Unlikely mentors is a great way to describe challenging work dynamics. There are some good points given for managing and learning from those relationships.
Overall I enjoyed this read. Pick it up, buy it for friends, colleagues, or someone who could use a little helping with developing emotional intelligence.
