Alexis is backed into a corner as she looks between two doors. Behind door number one is the man her father is pushing her to marry, the man who's good for her brand and her future.

Behind door number two is me: the bad boy of baseball who happens to be the man she has fallen in love with.

I wish we could just run away together. I promised I'd wait for her no matter how long it took. I'd wait forever if I had to. She's worth it.

But the bases are loaded, and as we run toward the final out, we have no idea what's waiting on the other side.

After 4 books, this story is finally progressing. Books 2-4 should have been consolidated. This book is a little better, only bc the story finally starts progressing and the MFC finally starts to make decisions and stand up for herself. It took 3 books and nearly all of book 4 before the MFC had any personal growth. I was more excited to hear about the MMC's sister and her boyfriend and MMC's mom and her potential new relationship. The drama with MMC's dad, MFC's dad and fake ex, and the weird drama/forced suspense about the MCs getting engaged/MFC running away were just ridiculous plots. I'll be glad when this story ends. So far, is book and the first book in the series are the best -- only bc the 1st book set up the story and this book finally started to progress the story. It still wasn't good. Without the issues in books 2 & 3, this book would have been fine, maybe even 4 ⭐. But the overall series brings down the score. It's still not worth starting the series.

Finally the story progresses
