I thought they were my enemies. I was right.
I invited the infamous Blackwell Beasts to live with me for one reason: to find out if they killed my brother five years ago.
They did the time, but did they really do the crime?
I thought I was prepared for anything, but deep down, I didn't want to believe they did it.
How could I when guitar-playing Wolf made me feel so safe? When quirky Otis made me feel so seen?
Even Jace, my MC bully, brought something to the table, pushing me to explore parts of myself I didn't know existed.
But now the truth is out: five years ago, my brother's best friends killed him.
Now, enemies are all around, and the Blackwell Beasts might be my best chance of survival—but only if I give them my body and soul.

Holy Cliffhanger!

It’s complicated

The storyline is great. The performances are great, but I’ll be nice by saying that naïveté of the FMC but what I really wanna say is this stupidity of her is really making it difficult for me to get through this one. I had high hopes for this, but I cannot wrap my head around how she can be so blind. She is in her head a lot, and she’s more concerned about the moral dilemma than she is about the problem and safety of her and the people around her. She is so blindly not connecting any dots and not opening her mouth about it.
It was stated in the first book that information is key in order to protect yourselves, and yet both sides kept information to themselves. The boys got on board by book 2, but she is still keeping information and being silent, not only is she being silenced, but she can’t put two and two together. Which is putting everyone in harms way. The other thing is, I just don’t understand if she loved her mother so much and she find out information. Why is she not asking the questions? Why is she not sharing the information? How can you be so blind when clearly your readers can see it. You can’t expect your readers to put things together when your main characters can’t.. It just becomes extremely frustrating….for me at least. I also feel that Sadie missed key writing by acknowledging that a conversation took place after but not actually telling us about the conversation.
I will say I will continue on to the final installment. I do know it’s a tearjerker at the end of this book (I think) cliffhanger but like I said, it’s very frustrating right now. And Im not sure it will get better.
Very excited for the second trilogy, but…..
