Acerca de esta escucha
Quick. What do you do if your body catches on fire? That’s right. You stop, drop, and roll. In that moment of elevated emotions, your brain won't have the ability to remember a more complicated process and it certainly won’t be able to Google suggestions. So, luckily your teachers spent countless hours drilling those 3 words into your head when you were a kid.
How to PARENT (Possibly Actually Remember Everything Next Time) is the stop, drop, and roll of parenting. It is chock full of mnemonics you can use to help you remember how to navigate tricky parenting situations so you can pull them out of your brain during intense emotional moments. If you commit them to memory when you are calm; when you or your kids are activated, you’ll have a plan for safety and connection. Of course, nothing will work with every child, every day, in every situation; but this will be a reasonable starting point for those tricky moments.

Exactly what I needed to hear!
Jackie is amazing! This book provides real world examples of how to parent your child effectively. She is down to earth and relatable and I love the acronyms she provides to help remember these parent tips when issues come up later.
I have a nine year old and an eight month old and I know I can apply her knowledge to my parenting with both of them in different ways.

Quick and useful- read and re-read!
The acronyms and anecdotes are spot-on, and I love that the author draws on teaching experience as well as child psychology. I've been revisiting relevant sections ever since my first read-through. Great guide!

Easy to remember Parenting Tips
I loved this Audio. It took much of what I already knew and simplified it. Parenting is hard. Jackie's book makes it easier. I have 20 years in education but when my own girls turned into teenagers, they won. Not only did Jackie remind me of my acquired skills, she added a few more skills. There are Mnemonics to help you remember the strategies and fun songs you can teach your children.

So helpful. So well read. (Okay, wrote and narrated it, but still). I liked it so much I even listened to my own voice for 2 hours.

Great resource!
As a rural home health PTA, I spend a lot of time in my car. The majority of this time is spent listening to podcasts or Audible. I recently listened to How to P.A.R.E.N.T. By Jackie Santillan.
This book is all about adopting a compassionate and empathetic approach to parenting that focuses on building strong relationships with our little ones. It’s full of practical tips and advice that can help make parenting a more enjoyable and rewarding experience. It delivers on its promise of numerous mnemonics to help in different parenting situations. I will have to sit down at home and relisten so that I can write them down and commit them to memory.
Overall, I think it’s a great resource for anyone looking to create a more loving and respectful relationship with their children.
