This book brings the truth to light like no other

I have tried to explain the thesis of this book to people for many years now. Grace does a better job with more specifics than I ever could. I used to say that capitalism has only ever existed as an idea

An informative and inspiring look at our current system and what is possible beyond it.

There is nothing to dislike in this book. She gives great examples of movements for change, grassroots democracy in workplaces and countries. the book brings us hope for a better future.

This work covers a great number of topics and historical events to reach a more holistic understanding of the causes of our world’s current state.

Excellent background knowledge

Great, historical context . The offer gives great historical background related to the historical development of capitalism.

Read this book if you want to understand why everything is so expensive.

Grace uses historical analysis and economic data to reiterate the old, but sadly necessary point that economic dictatorship is not the only possible way to fulfill market demand. She beautifully illustrates how closely capital and state are intertwined and describes precisely which mechanisms enable a tiny percentage of people to control our lives. She successfully preempts counter arguments and recommends (what should be considered) common sense alternatives to the unnecessarily individualistic nature of the currently dominant economic system. There is a ton of great research and information in this book and I will be listening again soon. Great job.

A relentless and clear critique of capitalism's hijinks

I really enjoyed this, and found it extremely informative. Grace Blakeley is such a great communicator, she manages to pack a lot of analysis and historical information into her theses without the work becoming dry or difficult to get through. I appreciated that this book spends some time in its latter half detailing positive examples of cooperative experiments and encouraging the reader to consider their place in things bigger than themselves.

Good content, Not my favorite narrator

Content is interesting but the narrating is dry and robotic, I'm having difficulty finishing it.
