I loved it!

This novella is part of the Delta Security Series, a Romantic Suspense. Gabriel and Lyric's story is beautifully written, emotional, engaging, and suspenseful, filled with danger, and twists and turns. The supporting characters are great. The storyline is captivating. M.K. Blackwood and Eric Bryan Moore did an excellent job bringing this story to life. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to more in the series!

Emotional coming of age romantic suspense!

Now this is exactly what I love about DL Lane. She just understands how to create a world and make me want to delve into it. Her Delta series is fantastic so far, packed full of interesting, realistic characters that have my heart invested in every decision they make. This novella has it all. We previously met Gabriel, aka Reaper in Cowboy's book, and I could tell he was going to be a great character. But the start of this story, had me wondering just how damaged he might be! He and his mother live with Lyric, as his mom is her nanny. Taking on the role of her protector from the time he was eight, the two were extremely close. Lyric looks up to "Real" as her playmate and later as a teen crush. But does he feel the same? It took til Lyric was a young adult to catch his eye as the beautiful woman she is becoming both inside and out. Well, things can never go as planned, and life takes a turn that neither of them see coming. The question is where will it leave them in the end? Brokenhearted, in constant danger and now with an ending that just leaves me wanting to hear the rest of their story! This coming of age book is the perfect beginning, and Lane has once again left me in awe. I am ready for more!

Eric Bryan Moore and MK Blackwood are our storytellers and what a story they tell! Moore takes on the role of Gabriel, from a child to a soldier. He nails the early years with a hint of an accent and later matures into the alpha male he truly is. A bit hardened and stoic, I can't wait to see where he takes this character. Blackwood is amazing as Lyric. She holds an awe for Gabe in her voice as a young child and slowly matures into the loving woman that she is. But she too carries a firmness that gives us an idea of what has happened and what is to come. These two make magic together and I can't wait to hear Reaper!

A must listen

I was blown away by this book. Not only was the story well written, with wonderful characters, filled with emotions, but the narrator's are next level and give an amazing performance. I was hooked on Delta Security from the start and still am. I'm eagerly awaiting the release of Reaper, even more so now.

This was a fantastic prequel to Reaper’s story. A coming of age story and all the drama that follows these two will have you swooning one minute and crying the next.
Great beginning to what I’m certain will be another riveting story by D.L. Lane.
The narration was incredibly sexy and fun. Both M.K. Blackwood and Eric Bryan Moore absolutely nailed these characters and will leave you wanting more, so much more!! 😍😍
This is book 1.5 in this series and continues to book 2.
I highly recommend this book/series.

Absolutely Amazing

I was captivated from the start. And as usual, D.L. Lane took my on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. I laughed, I cried, and I can't wait for Reaper. I'm rooting for Gabe and Lyric, and have a feeling getting to their happy ending will be another wild ride, but I'm ready! Bring it on!
