As Tavard has always hated Minalan and seen him as a threat, this proves to be a challenge even the Spellmonger shies away from. He makes a counter-proposal to not just tutor Tavard but also his three closest rivals to the throne at the same time.

That is not all. Matters with the Sea Folk are coming to a head, Minalan is still trying to recreate the incredible snowstone spell, the gods seem to be conspiring against him, the refugees from the far north are arriving, and the civil war he started in neighboring Merwyn is beginning to stall. And his wife is having a baby—three weeks early.

Years of political intrigue and military preparation come to a head as Minalan embraces his role as Preceptor, the maker of rules for all the complex games of politics and war he is playing. Enjoying power no wizard has had since the Archmage, Minalan has taken responsibility for ordering the kingdom, armies, wizards, and the very gods themselves with his powers, both mundane and arcane. He has learned that those who have the power to make the rules must also bear responsibility for how they are followed. There is no higher call to duty for a wizard who dares to be... a Preceptor!

Worth the wait

Love to have another full book from Min's perspective and to see the story progress as it has.

these books keep getting better

great twist at the end . pacing was so good and move the main plot point along while Introducing / escalatimg other conflicts . 10 outta 10 will listen to again

It does not disappoint!

Terry Mancour delivers another gripping novel in the series. I could hardly stop listening. As always, I will await the next installment with great anticipation!

Excellent world building

The only thing I disliked about this one was how quickly it ended. Very excited to spend more time with Minalin and very much looking forward to what comes next!

Another great novel

As usual, the story was fantastic. the narration was spot on. The entire book creates several plot twists, and just when you think you have it figured out, bam another direction. Several different directions are possible by the end.

If you are a fan of this series, then you know this book has been long anticipated, putting a period at the end of a lot of the struggle that has gotten us to this point, and done masterfully, and as always, with a keen sense of humor! Thank you Terry Mancour you’ve captured my imagination!

Great as always!

Was a great book! Tied up a bunch of story elements which were dangling about, and showed where things are going next. John Lee was a great narrator as always. Unfortunately now I have to wait for the next book!

Seems like 2 novellas smushed together

i liked it, but it didnt seem like a mainline story book. it was still good.

As it turns out this book is also packed with wisdom, and yes, do not be ‘stupid’, jump into this title soonest and enjoy!
