Publisher's summary

He wouldn't take my money. He wanted my innocence instead.

When Nikolai Romanov came looking for my brother, I emptied my savings hoping I could pay off his debt. But I didn't have even close to enough, so the bastard decided to take me instead.

I didn't expect a Russian mafia boss like him to be gentle with me...and he wasn't.

Not when he spanked me for daring to wear panties under the dress he chose for me, and certainly not when he stripped me out of that same dress and made me scream in his bed.

He told me I would be his for a month, but the way he looks at me says I'm his forever...

Corrupted Innocence is a standalone novel and the first book of the Innocent Brides series. It includes spankings and rough, intense sexual scenes intended for mature listeners.

Corrupted Innocence

First book I’ve listened to from this author, not bad but it could’ve been better starting with a better male narrator with an actual Russian accent! This guy didn’t even come close and for me and that’s a huge part of selling the story to me. Secondly, it has some triggers so be aware if you’re a sensitive reader you should think about it. I hope they kinda continue with the storyline of this book onto book 2 of this series, yes I will give it another try and hopefully I won’t regret it. Is it worth the credit? It’s a yes only because it had a HEA. Enjoy!

Great read with a few twists and turns. First time listening to this author and wasn’t disappointed.

3.5 ⭐️ ➖ DIDN'T QUITE TICK ALL MY BOXES ➖

This is a new to me author and I did enjoy this listen.. however, it didn’t really grip me like some of the other Mafia stories out there. Mafia romance are my kryptonite and, although this ‘sell yourself to save your father/brother’ plot-line has been done a few times before, there’s always room in my ever expanding Library for more so I took the chance.

And it’s an okay listen.. but, for me, the insta attraction didn’t spark.. I didn’t feel the chemistry, romance or passion as the story unfolded. There were bartered heat scenes as bossy Nikolai gets his month’s worth of kinky dominant pleasures out of Charlotte’s ass, however it felt more transactional than emotional. No changing of the charge, no depth to the relationship, no tender talks, melting of feelings or interactions.. just instructions and obedience. Charlotte is a people pleaser, she has strength, is selfless, hardworking, independent and kind however, when her brother’s debts force her into the crosshairs of Nikolai’s corrupt world, this busy Deli owner better be ready for his possession and pain. He’s the third-in-line son of the Romanov Crime Family.. and he’s about to posses an obsess.

Worth a credit? Maybe.. if you want an easy listen and you’re NOT looking for dark, layered, intense, passion-filled, romantic, swoony or twisted. It was enjoyable enough with good narration keeping the chapters flowing well.. however, it just missed an ingredient or two that would’ve taken it to a whole new four or five star level for me. I didn’t think it was dark.. more Mafia-lite, there’s drama and Mafia misdoings along the way, all holes sex and a dash of suspense too.. but sorry, I don’t think I’ll be ‘one clicking’ the next book in the series..

Just fizzles out ……

This wasn’t for me - I found the characters one dimensional and annoying and couldn’t get myself to care what happened to them. The story is completely incredible - in the true sense of the word - not credible at all, even when you suspend your disbelief. I typically enjoy blackmail / coercion / debt repayment type romance but this was just a let down. No character development at all, no angst, nothing to capture the reader’s interest and keep them engaged. The performances were good and the best thing about the book

Struggled to finish

It was a great idea although not original, but the execution was truly terrible. The story itself was flat and laughable ( the mafia boss falls for a sandwich store owner and although she is as deep as her business, he falls absolutely in love). There is nothing interesting about the hero and heroine and the end is predictable with no twist and turns whatsoever.
And to make this even worse the narrators sound like teenagers reading their assignments in front of a bored class.
Such a waste of a credit.
