A Great Listen

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the narrator and enjoyed the next generation of this story. Talar's children try to find their way in the world after being raised my their father's enemy, Rarick . Kalas has been raised as Rarick's heir and Tyla to be his weapon. But they have other plans for themselves. . The continuation of this story grabs you right away pulls you into the story to the point where it is hard to turn it off. This series has something for everyone, suspense, drama, mystery, humour and a touch of romance. This combination of author and narrator creates pure enjoyment. Looking forward to next book.

Another exciting book!

Talar’s children have become the pawns in a game set to wreak havoc on several cities and kingdoms. Rarick plans on hoodwinking Kalas and manipulating Tyla into becoming a weapon for him. However, Tyla is much smarter and resourceful as well as not gullible! She escapes but to do so she leaves everyone she has ever cared for behind. The adventure begins!

The author, M. L. Hamilton continues to blow my mind. She continues to amaze me with her deliberate and well-crafted storylines and significant plot twists. A whole new list of characters with different traits and characteristics, and fresh new directions. She has crafted a world that is appealing and enthralling. The dialogue is smooth and helps to meld the events and characters within the book. Further, the dialogue demonstrates the strength of her writing skills. She is vivid in her descriptions as well.

The narrator, Kelley Hazen is amazing herself. This is an epic book that requires her talent of creating unique voices for each character and capturing their essence accurately. She speaks with passion projecting the appropriate intonations for each character and situation. I could listen to Kelley Hazen all day long. She has a soothing delivery, even when the action is tense, and her words are spoken clearly with appropriate pauses. She doesn’t just narrate; she becomes the story.

I thoroughly enjoy both Hamilton and Hazen’s partnership. Together they are a formidable pair in creativity. I look forward to the next book in this series.

The Scions of Eldon (World of Samar #6) was a great read by M.L. Hamilton. Kalas gave up everything in order to save his sister. His family walked away and left him with his mother and the man who destroyed his father. Rarick, the King of Sarkisian, promises Kalas the crown in exchange for his cooperations. Kalas wants to make a difference and believes this may be his chance. His chance to change the course of his life and save the people of Adishian. He hopes to restore the Protectorate to its former glory with the aid of his sister. But Rarick sees Tyla as the key to domination of Nevaisser. He can finally end the war with Dorland. Tyla won't be used by either person. She plans to escape Adishian and flee to Temeron when an escort arrives for her. But she feels guilt for the people she leaves behind. She knows that the only solution is for Rarick to die. I enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read more by the author.
