Publisher's summary

"An outstanding debut - ingenious, fast-paced and unpredictable." (Harlan Coben)

"Geneva is one of the best thrillers I've ever read. And I've read quite a few." (A J Finn)

How far would you go for someone you love?

Nobel Prize-winning scientist Sarah Collier has taken a step back from work to spend more time with her family. Movie nights with her husband Daniel and their daughter Maddie are a welcome respite from the scrutiny of the world’s press. As much as it hurts, it’s good to be able to see her father more too. He’s suffering from Alzheimer’s and needs special care.

Sarah has started to show tell-tale signs of the disease too. She’s been experiencing blackouts and memory loss. It’s early days but she must face the possibility that she won’t be there to see her daughter grow up. Daniel, a neuroscientist himself, is doing his best to be supportive but she already knows that she will have to be the strong one. For all of them.

So when Sarah is invited to be the guest of honour at a prestigious biotech conference in Geneva she declines, wanting to stay out of the public eye – that is until Daniel shows her the kind of work that the enigmatic Mauritz Schiller has been developing.

Flown first class to the spectacular alpine city and housed in a luxury hotel, Sarah and Daniel are thrust back into the spotlight. As they try to shut out the noise of the public media storm, in private Sarah is struggling with her escalating symptoms. And the true extent of what Schiller has achieved is a revelation. This is technology that could change medicine forever. More than that, it could save Sarah’s life.

But technology so valuable attracts all kinds of interest. Wealthy investors are circling, controversial blogger Terri Landau is all over the story, and someone close to Schiller seems bent on taking advantage of the situation for themselves. Sarah feels threatened and does not know who to trust – including herself. Far from being her lifeline Schiller's technology may be her undoing.

As events spiral out of control Sarah and Daniel are faced with the ultimate question: how far would you go for someone you love?

An unmissable debut thriller written and narrated by Richard Armitage, co-narrated by Nicola Walker and Jane Perry.

This book contains scenes pertaining to dementia that some listeners may find distressing.

Featured Article: Best of the Year—The 15 Best Mysteries and Thrillers of 2022

This year was an amazingly fruitful one for mysteries and thrillers. As we tried to narrow this list down, a popular refrain among editors was: "Don’t forget this, don’t forget that, and what about this?" Some of us liked when the twists and turns began within the first few minutes, while others were happy to go on the rocky, thrilling rides the genre provides with a little guessing along the way. But we’re sure about one thing—this list is simply the best.

Well done, Mr. Armitage!

Thrilled that my hands-down favorite Audible narrator and one of my absolute favorite actors wrote a book, and that it’s such a great yarn! I finished it within two days—couldn’t stop listening. I also adore Nicola Walker—so glad she could be a part of this project. Congratulations, Mr. Armitage, on your new endeavor as an author. Hope to “read” more from you in the future.

Richard Armitage Proves He Can Do Anything!

Richard Armitage's debut novel is gripping, intense, fast-paced, and intriguing. Every time I thought I knew what was going on, Mr. Armitage threw me for a loop and kept me guessing. What I guessed was more fine-tuned into Science Fiction, but the finesse with which he mislead his readers at every turn until the truth could finally be revealed was masterful. And much more scary considering it's within the realm of possibility. If you haven't started it yet or you are at any point in this engrossing thriller, be prepared for a roller coaster ride of hairpin turns and twists. The narration perfectly executed by Richard Armitage and Nicola Walker is nothing short of brilliant and I found myself completely immersed in a world of love, betrayal, and dark dealings where it’s nearly impossible to know who to trust, and loyalties are tested, and retested. Who is Sarah Collier? Some days, even she doesn't know. But one day soon, she is going to have to remember. And, hopefully, that day won't be too late for everything and everyone she loves. Richard Armitage's "Geneva" is one story you'll find hard to put down until its explosive, clever, and satisfying conclusion.

In general, a good tale.

I, often, refrain from writing reviews - simply, because I feel as though it's judgmental as a whole - but (yep, me, Judgie McJudgerson lol) this one was great. Had I not thought so, I honestly, wouldn't have written a review, at all.

Armitage, I believe, is more well-known as a narrator. This debut novel also gives him solid foothold in writing, as well.

Great storyline (if you don't critique it) and awesome finish. Made my jaw drop towards the end.

Recommended.

Excellent Narration

Listener, Richard Armitage and Nicola Walker are superb, of course. The characterization is subtle, but stellar. Thrillers aren't my usual reading choice, so I'm unsure how to evaluate the story.

Thrilling!

This story stayed with me for days after I finished it. Lots of twists and turns, it kept me wanting more. Well done, Mr. Armitage, I do hope you've got more stories in you. Hopefully you can also get this published as a book. Thanks!

Fast passed and suspenseful

A very enjoyable first writing attempt. The author makes you love and hate the right characters. I found the story interesting. Very engaging, set against the beautiful backdrop of the Alps and the city of Geneva. Nicola Walker was brilliant as Sarah. Richard Armitage, as always great as the underwhelming, weak personality of Daniel. I know I'll listen to it again in the future.
