Meeting them in person allows you to get to know them in a different way, build connections, and eventually collaborate with them. Writing with someone else not only gives you more ideas for the book and improves your relationship, but it also encourages you to share your work, which is a great way to figure out what works and what doesn't. You are free to do whatever you want with your story. Don't be afraid to play with your characters; make it exciting! Reality can be boring at times. Nothing is impossible if you believe in yourself and each other, no matter how unlikely your personalities are or how much people underestimate you.
