Great book

Loved this book. Great action, suspense, characters, and romance. Looking forward to the next one of the series.

A Fantastic Romantic Suspense Thriller!

Yael Brooks wears the white hat tracking predators through the dark web. She has just the skills the FBI Hostage Rescue Team needs to track a sadistic serial killer. Team member Shane Livingston, is tasked with keeping Yael safe. No easy task, because it’s beginning to look like the killer just might have set his sights on Yael! Cold Silence is a stunner! This is kind of story that grabs you from the get-go, holds you, and does not let you go until you hear “audible hopes you have enjoyed this program”, Featuring fantastic writing, fabulous characters, a dynamic timely plot, suspense, action, thrills, chills, heat, a completely unpredictable ending and convincing, enjoyable narration, THIS one is everything one could ask for! I loved it and I will be looking for more from this amazingly talented author. Five stars!

Suspenseful

I had a blast with the first book I read for this author, and so as an avid fan of romantic suspense, I couldn’t resist when the opportunity to read 🎧︎Cold Silence, the latest standalone in her Cold Justice series. Narrated by Eric G. Dove, 🎧︎Cold Silence delivers a suspenseful tale with romantic elements. A tale which will have you flipping the pages as you as try to anticipate the villain’s next move and law enforcement course of action.

🎧︎Cold Silence is the first book in the author’s Cold Justice: Most Wanted series. It is a spinoff of her Cold Justice series. In her newest novel, the reader is introduced to Shane Livingston, a member of the FBI Hostage Retrieval Team and his love interest, Yael Brooks. Yael and Shane met while working a case involving a serial killer who not only films his kills but also engages his viewers by enticing them to bid on the method of torture for each of the victims. Shane, with Yael’s help, took a deep dive into the worldwide web, hoping to stop to stop the villain before he got to his next victim.

Sparks ignited the moment the two met. However, because of secrets and insecurities, it took a while for their relationship to develop. These two were complete opposites. Shane is outgoing, while Yael prefers her own company. I wondered how well a relationship would work between someone who hates guns and a law enforcement officer.

Yael’s past is one she would prefer to remain hidden. However, the villain with his cunning and suave computer skills is privy to her past and plans to use it to snare her into his Web. Entitlement and belief that his victims owed him something fueled his motivation for murder. It didn’t take long for me to figure out the villain’s identity. I also had a fair idea of who is next victim would be. The story moved quickly, which had me flipping the pages. I had to know how it would end.

Eric G. Dove did a good job with the characters and the narration. He has an engaging tone, which had me listening intently. His female voices all sounded the same, while his male voices were distinctive. I believe he needs to add some emotion to his narration.

Overall, 🎧︎Cold Silence delivered a suspenseful story that will keep readers on their toes.

Excellent Narration

A killer like no other. .Hostage Rescue Team is needed to extract a young woman. Shane when injured now needing Yael for the skills to help with this op. Trust is needed to work together, and it is hard for Yael to give. Yael is injured and now realized she was no longer alone. A tense filled plot of a rescue, a mission, and team work together, to the last page.
The narration by Eric Dove enhance the tension in this story, having a good narration voice to listen to

A masterpiece of swoony and dangerous excitement

Whew. This book. It grabbed me and did not let go. The tension ramped up and just held me there suspended on the edge of my seat until the very end. It was the perfect balance between the ramping up of the suspense of the serial killer, the gradual deepening of the relationship between Shane and Yael, and the twisted viewpoint of the bad guy. It was delicious perfection. And the narration by Toni Anderson was superb. It just added to the overall effect of the story. Shane is a member of HRT with the FBI. He breaks his arm during an operation and as a result is temporarily off the active team when his best friend is killed during another operation. Yael is a computer genius working for a private security firm. Yael and Shane are part of a task force tasked with catching a sadistic serial killer. The tension of the hunt for the killer and the long hours spent working together deepen Shane and Yael feelings for each other despite both their stance against relationships. It’s an exciting, roller coaster dangerous ride where they are trying to deal with a wily and dangerous serial killer while also dealing with their own issues and fears in their growing relationship. This book has a little bit of everything you’d expect from romantic suspense - sweet moments, fan your face steam, dangerous action, strong friendships, painful pasts, mystery, evil actors, plot twists, imperfect characters, and even a few chuckles. The story was well written, the characters were relatable, had depth and growth, and the storyline was engaging.

Thrilling

Loved this story from word one. Action packed and suspenseful. Couldn’t help but finish this in one sitting. Will be checking out more in this series.

Exciting, thrilling and chilling

I was so looking forward to listening to this new series, The author knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat not giving much away. Who the killer was had me guessing almost until the end. It has been a long time since I listen to something this chilling, making your hold your breath, close your eyes and do a lot of praying. I found myself talking to the characters trying to get the to hurry up before what I knew was going to happen, happen. Setting here writing this review my heart is still beating fast and I am still taking deep breaths. I sure hope this never happens in real life it is the most chilling story I have seen in a long time. I have to wonder what this author has in store for us with the rest of the series. I really liked the characters, it was nice to see of from other books she has written. This is a hold your breath why holding your seat listen that will give you chills but at the same time thrilling you action side.


I just love Mr. Dove’s narration he pulls you in with a very strong and powerful voice. There are no background noises or repeating of words just a wonderful delightful listen. If any breaks were taken I could not tell he just delivers a very clean, clear and power audio. His tones are outstanding you can feel the passion, excitement coming right out of your speakers. His male voices are a wonderful as his female. You always know who is talking and what they are feeling. His normal voice is just a delight to listen to as he gives you the facts pulling you in to a world that has gone crazy. You can tell he has put a lot of thought into each character the voices fit them so well. He gives just enough pause, to let what he just read sink in giving it a powerful impact on the listener. Mr. Dove knows how to pull you in taking your on a ride that will leave you holding your breath wanting to pull the characters out of the story to keep them safe. His Performance is one of the best narrators I have listened to. I know when I see his name it is going to be a wild exciting ride.

This is one of the best books by this author, I can't wait to see what the next book is about. I really love this author and narrator.

One of my favorite-go to-authors. This book was fabulous. Suspense-romance and well developed characters from previous books.

Shocking action packed story

What a shocking, surprising action packed story! I was kept on my toes always wondering what was going to happen next. The characters are deep and have many tense moments. I was thrilled with the build of each character.

I did listen to this on audio. Eric G Dove did an amazing job narrating. This is my first book by this author. I enjoyed meeting all the characters and the story is well put together.

Now he is working behind the scenes while his other HRT operators are trying to find a kidnapped woman before the she is killed by Evi1Geni-us while being streamed online.
Alex Parker’s security team extreme hacker Yael Brooks is working with the HRT in Houston to help find Anya Baker, a woman who is currently being murdered online. While Yael has been hacking the video feed of Evi1Geni-us trying to locate her, he set a trap for her and she fell right into it. The team realizes too late the danger they are in when he takes over and makes himself known while staring directly into Yael’s eyes right after their mission fails. EG is always one step ahead of them and he is killing anyone who can identify him so the bodies are piling up. Now the team is on a race against time to save his next victim.
