Good book

The first book is better; however, I believe the audience will enjoy where this story takes the listener. Also, this book has an exciting ending worth listening to that is well worth the credit.

The MC is Brain Dead

While the book is a great read in which I will certainly be picking up the next book. I find myself ungodly frustrated at the MC magically forgetting to use life saving spells he has that would have saved him or other people. At times costing people's lives because he is too dumb to remember that he has spells that are literally perfect for the situations he is in. At times he will only use a spell one time and then never use it again, even though the spell will be hyped up as OP. Or the Author will conveniently nerf the MC at the magical right time, even though the MC has shown much greater feats literally the chapter before.

disappointed

Was a great start, picked up where the 1st book left off. Had a lot of potential with characters, world building and the system was very intrusive. MC continued to be an indecisive, cowardly, ball less individual, he seemed to get less intelligent as the story progressed. The ending was the deciding factor for the stars, I would have put less stars but don't like to negatively impacts authors. hopefully book 3 can make up for the sh*t show of book 2s ending.

whiney little coward as the MC

MC is still a whiney little worm...oh I have msgic...gets ribbed on the road, after being warned...why would anyone rob me, doesn't even try to fight back...just whines...attacking monsters....let's party members attack, then whines because the mob got away..he didn't even attack....party gets wiped when enemies kite a mob on party...cries...enemies start shooting his friends with arrows, while they are running away, all in the same direction...and vows vengeance....Shut up, he will just sit and whinge in the corner....not sure why the author made him so detestable...

MC put "CN" on character sheet but meant "CE"

The protagonist of this one sees the fantastic world through the lens of personal advancement. But doesn't seem to realize he's evil.

He lies to his "friends", makes stupid choices, and does his best to earn an early death. But it seems that there's an invisible "luck" stat on his character sheet; more than one blunder or failure to act turns into a major boon for him.

when a different reviewer spoke of him losing his entire party in an encounter without ever firing a shot, abd surviving only through luck.... I thought they were referring to the last book. Nope. turns out that this is a recurring theme.

and yeah, it's a little rough to watch him whine so much (and reap rewards) when he did nothing to try to prevent it.

ugh

also... did I mention that his inner monologue reveals an evil mind? I did? yeah, that

enjoyable enough to see it through

very plot armory in certain areas and while the MC isn't a completely lost hope, it feels at times that the author forces him to be for the pursuit of dramatic story progression.
