Need more! Want more! Give more!

I cannot wait for you to (speedily) bring us more, however, do be careful of having enough content. Particularly for two books; but also for a well rounded and full story. Twice a publication seemed as if more was needed to really give both the characters and your avid fans the indulgence and development we crave.

This time I had to mark you down some. The 1st "book" was mostly death and disorder with an end attachment of whammy magic. The 2nd "book" was all wrapping up political intrigue that's been building all along with some interesting maneuvering but not really a full story. Both needed more. Both were dearly anticipated and dearly held; yet you're almost to blurring out the beauty of your series and people. Please don't fall into run-down mode or, "I've hit 10hrs (or the like), so it's time to tie-off and come again later."

As speedily as I want more, weave your special magic and bring back the layers, character depth and fun solutions in building thier world up. Give it as many hours/pages as it needs and slow down before all you have is a skimming of what it could be. I say this in all encouragement. I adore your series. The wise but not perfect Lark, his townspeople and the great-hearted royals... and we want to be involved with his disciples and laborers and guardsman... don't skimp on the periphery because it's not! We love it! Don't lose touch with what is special about your world; and don't lose touch with the tremendous cast of characters that makes your series matter.

Can't wait to see you bring us a fresh one. It's a bigger stage - just remember story fullness and character involvement - and we'll be right there with you! Cheers!

It's Mid.

This is the problem with short, fast pace, event driven book series. You run into the book where not much happens. Book 7 is that for me. Lark is only in the book for a hand full of chapters. Now I'm half way though book 8 and things have picked back up. Still I believe that this book series will never introduce a serious love interest. The princess is a false trail I am sure of it. I get irritated when I hold out this long for the love interest and nothing happens. I really enjoyed the princess in book 5 and 6 but in 7 and 8 she is almost completely absent. This is because there is only 6 hours worth of material for each book and too much is happening with not enough dialogue. You get the broad idea of this world but you don't feel sucked into the world. Still it's a very fun read, easy to read, with a lot happening in every chapter. I'm re reading super Powereds by Drew Hayes and it drives home the difference between great character development and taking the time to take you on a journey and decent character development and only giving the readers the broad strokes of the major events. 4 stars

Meh.

Loved the first three books, this one just seemed sort of ‘meh’… a lot of setup for the next book. Not nearly what I expected after waiting for months… nothing to overcome. no challenges. Just meh.

Unfocused. Inconsistent. Nonsensical.

Completely different from the other books. Jumps around from multiple people’s POV’s for no reason. Nonsensical and Irrelevant stuff throughout. Inconsistent timeline and information people have. Unfocused plots. Inconsistent character behavior for the MC. Added graphic background stuff for no reason. Bad event timing. The author doesn’t seem to stick with the theme too well.

SPOILERS / Rant

Book 7 Chapter 7 Gives all the priests revelation about the demon invasion and it’s coming from the West. Give extra support to the navy. Later no one prepares for the demons and they act like they had no idea demons were going to attack. No one knew about the demons even though every city must have a temple with priests and they all got the revelation?! Prepare for the invasion? Nah… let’s setup trade deals with the elves. Head West like you said you were to put walls around the cities. Nah too busy.

“I’m not gonna run from what this body has done in the past”… a few moments later… “sure cover up my crimes.” I hate slavery but it’s ok if my merchant has them and abuses them to test my products.

2 powerful mages face off for an epic rematch… nope skip that scene and just make it town gossip.

Remember that time we talked about this person or hinted at something? Glad you do because the author forgot about it.

Should I warn the Kingdom about the invasion. Nah I’m gonna go help the elves on the other side of the continent first… bc I need those trade deals.

arch magus least featured character of "arch magus"

what an absolute waste of a credit, I tried to tough it out but 7 and 8 killed it for me, I h as ve zero desire to see how this ends. with 2 books left I might get 4 chapters about lark, what a joke

Moreover

Great continuation of the story, but the number of times the author uses the word 'moreover' is a bit ridiculous.
