Free from the prison of her birth, Gell the Jellyfae, a dungeon-mob turned into a player, must discover how she can protect herself from a world she cannot know. Meanwhile, copied and experimented on like a lab rat, Gell's sister must escape a horrible fate. Driven by a desire for a world that is real, they defy their gods to craft a home of their own.

I very much enjoyed this book and watching Gell's continuing development.

This book has a much more complete ending than the first book. The ending is still open, but it feels like a more natural stopping point. (Though I sincerely hope that the author will complete the next book soon.)

A good continuation of Gell's story.

Dustin, my dude, what the ever loving macadamia nut is wrong with you? I got book 1 yesterday…. Cool story, things happening, totally see where this is going, right? Standard LitRPG, people playing a game realize it’s not a game yadda….nope. Just finished book 2, could probably use some more sleep, but I just couldn’t stop. You better be almost done with book three, because there are things that need knowing! Seriously though, I went into this expecting a bit of entertainment during my commute and down time, instead I’m pretty sure I’m two days behind on work. I’m neither an alpha male nor a sigma boy, but Gell not only got me to laugh out loud a few times, but actually squeezed a few tears out of this sarcasm seasoned face.

Overall, the story is a fresh take in the space. Very well thought out, and I’m most impressed with how thoroughly multiple viewpoints and emotions are presented, the devils advocate isn’t inherently evil. Traci Odom does a good job narrating, she’s got a great voice and does an excellent job making you believe all the emotions of a virtual tween/teen, the only downside is that I felt a few times the characters voices got mixed up, but not so much that it took away from the story.

Surprisingly Captivating
