Mr. Menace

This novel is no ordinary horror story, nor is it a typical film noir styled detective story. It’s a masterfully written tale that held my attention and curiosity from beginning. The language in the novel flows and dances, leading the reader through twists and turns in time, and in and out of reality. I love the thoughtful names of places and characters and the author’s allusion to the power of a name. I also enjoy the references to mythology. Even though logic has to be released as the reader goes in and out of reality with Frank, the unexpected ending has a surprisingly logical satisfaction to it. I really enjoyed Mr. Menace.

Not so Menacing

"Damn near" the very definition of hard-boiled, filled with heavy handed symbolism from Greek Mythology, with imagery and metaphors to make even Edward Bulwer-Lytton blush.

Narrator's voice is well-selected, makes you want to chainsmoke a carton of cigarettes while standing on a dimly lit streetcorner.

Suspenseful!

This dark mystery holds your attention throughout.

Christopher Harbour does a great job narrating with his rich voice.
