Loads of suspense!
Judd and Autumn’s suspense filled romance is a best friend’s to lovers story that is engaging, heartbreaking, and loaded with danger. I liked Judd and Autumn’s youthful friendship, its growing maturity over the years, and the fierceness of Judd’s protection of her. When Autumn’s abusive father is paroled from prison Autumn’s life becomes a nightmare that threatens everything she holds dear. I had great empathy for MaryAlice whose heart is broken during this tumultuous story of small town bigotry, second chances, and is a spin off of Kait’s Wishful series. I was thoroughly engrossed in the wonderful audiobook narration performances of Amy McFadden and Jason Clarke.
