"Death Gets A Book" is Darkly Comical

“Death Gets A Book” is a funny book that takes an interesting turn. It's a book about death and the afterlife, but it's also about love, marriage and other relationships. I loved the twist of Vincent being a Grim Reaper, as well as how he must deal with this new role as Death.

The narrator is hilarious, and the story was well-paced, and it made me laugh out loud at times. I can't wait to read more from this author!

The story follows Vincent and his wife Wanda as they try to make it through their marriage. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) for them, they wind up getting themselves killed in Tijuana. Vincent wakes up to find that he is now a Grim Reaper and has been given the task of collecting souls on Earth, oh and his wife she is now a Banshee.

Death - a love story?

I loved this quirky story about the behind the scenes of death. Who knew it was in the book? The book had me laughing out loud - punch buggy, cowboy death, and many more. Ron Gabaldon, the narrator skillfully gave all the distinct characters their own voice. I’d say he brought the characters to life, but they were dead. Great book and great narration.

Satisfying Deaths!

A fun story about love after death. A creative twist on some familiar tropes, with some genuine laugh out loud moments. The narration was excellent (loved the cowboy) and even the editing had some nice touches. Looking forward to more from both the author and the narrator! Highly recommend for a quick and very entertaining listen.

A state of love and death

This is a quick listen that totally delivers on its premise. It wrings some pretty heartfelt laughter out of a morose subject.

It’s funny, absurd, and bizarrely poignant in places. We’ve got a vacationing couple in mexico who’ve bought tickets to see a donkey show. Wanda is the ultimate shrew determined to control her nebbish husband Vincent. But death be not proud as both husband and wife are suddenly transformed into grim reapers and banshees on a mission to collect souls of the living. It’s got donkeys, shrews, cowboys, witches, monster trucks, Morgan Freeman as God and much more. Worth a listen.

Death, Death...Death

Never in the history of publication has the word death been used at such a high percentage of the total word count, not that there is anything wrong with that. DEATH GETS A BOOK is a very fun, quick listen that I plan to revisit again in the future.
