Publisher's summary

One geology intern who desperately needs to be rescued from a hostage situation. One billionaire who has the capability to save her life. Two people who are inexplicably drawn to each other even though they have almost nothing in common.

Taylor

Just when I thought I was destined to die in a foreign country after being kidnapped while doing a geological exploration, a mysterious rescuer shows up just in time to save my life.

Unfortunately, my liberator also happens to be the co-CEO of Montgomery Mining, my employer, and a billionaire with an attitude.

At first glance, Hudson Montgomery seems like the quintessential gorgeous billionaire with plenty of money to burn and no concern for anyone but himself.

The arrogant billionaire I could handle, but I wasn't quite so sure how to deal with the amazing guy I discovered once I looked past the superficial exterior. The one who stayed by my side as I recovered mentally and physically from the trauma of being a hostage.

There was so much more to Hudson than just billions of dollars, a prestigious last name, and a very handsome face.

When the white-hot chemistry between the two of us finally explodes, do I trust the man I've come to know, or do I accept that Hudson Montgomery is the same guy the rest of the world sees?

Perfect

Easy read and listen! J.S Scott always shows why she is at the top! In all the books she always goes beyond in telling how and why her characters are perfect together, not to mention why these are alpha males! This series doesn’t disappoint 😁

another great book!

Billionaire Uncovered - Hudson by J. S. Scott was just another good book by this very talented author. Hudson is another hot Montgomery man. Taylor was anything but weak. She endured so much until Hudson rescues her. I couldn't put the book down.  The narrator was awesome as always.

Hudson and Taylor

Another superb read from J.S. Scott. I absolutely love everything this wonderful lady writes! Hudson piqued our interest in Mason’s story and now we find out why he is so enchanting. A former Spec Ops guy who still operates outside of the military even though he is a billionaire and runs a successful mining operation with his brothers. He rescues one of his interns from a radi-cal group in a supposedly safe area. But, he is smitten with her and not able to let her go. I en-joyed this story about Hudson being not sure Taylor was ready and him fighting his inner self. HOT and interesting. A wonderful read!
I just finished listening to this story in Audible. Elizabeth Powers is exceptional as always! This was the first story I’ve listened to with Brian Pallino as the co-narrator. He did a wonderful job bringing Hudson to life. His voice is deep and slightly rough like I would think that Hudson’s would be. I really enjoyed listening to the two narrators bringing the characters to life!

Love this series!

This series is an easy listen and follows the billionaire trope pretty closely. Hudson and Taylor’s story started with a traumatic and horrible kidnapping. When Hudson rescues Taylor his protective instinct kicks in and their relationship grows from there. Brian Pallino and Elizabeth Powers were fantastic and brought this low angst story to life in a beautiful way.

Great Read

Billionaire Undercover~ Hudson (The Billionaire’s Obsession #15) was another great read by J.S. Scott. Taylor was kidnapped and is held hostage while on a geological exploration. Hudson rescues Taylor and also happens to be her employer. He is also a billionaire with an attitude. Once Taylor gets past his gruff exterior, she realizes he isn’t so bad. I really enjoyed reading Taylor and Hudson’s hot chemistry. I cant wait to read more by J.S. Scott.

Hudson Sets Out To Find Taylor In A Hostage Rescue

Hudson Sets Out To Find Taylor In A Hostage Rescue Mission, But Love Finds Them In The Aftermath! Hudson And Taylor’s Story Includes Danger In Foreign Lands And Patient Romance As The Couple Is Brought Together Under Extreme Circumstances.

This is the fifteenth book in The Billionaire’s Obsession series. Each book in the series reads perfectly as a standalone. Books one through five are centered around Tampa, Florida. Book six is a bridge between The Sinclairs series and this series, but it also shifts the series to Colorado. The series continues in Colorado with the Colter family, whose five children comprise books seven through eleven. In books ten and eleven, the Colter twins marry the Lawson sisters. After, the series continues on in Seattle with the three Lawson brothers. Mason Lawson’s newly-discovered cousins, the Montgomerys, then take over the series in San Diego. Their stories provide a bridge to The Accidental Billionaires series.

The books about the Montgomery family cross over with the series about the West Coast Sinclairs – The Accidental Billionaires series. Little sister Riley Montgomery, an environmental lawyer, has already found her HEA with Seth Sinclair, the self-made construction worker turned billionaire builder, in Enamored. Her three older brothers, however, remain available.

About the Montgomerys:

Mason Lawson, whose story was told in book fourteen, had learned as an adult that he was adopted by his father, and that his father had married his mother after she was drugged and sexually assaulted by his biological father, a Montgomery. Mason was fortunate to have been raised in a loving home by a father that loved him as his own. Hudson Montgomery recently learned of the family connection himself. He and his siblings have since connected with their newly-discovered cousin Mason, and the Montgomerys and Lawsons are already beginning to feel like family.

The Montgomery children had not fared better in terms of fathers. In fact, they arguably had it worse since they were raised by their father in a cold home absent of love. The children had all been gifted, and while Riley had been left home alone, the boys had been sent away to a private school for gifted children. Their mother was concerned with appearances more than her children’s welfare. The Montgomery kids suspect she knew all along that Riley had been the victim of incest, simply choosing to turn a blind eye. The news devastated the boys when the finally found out. Their father had passed on, and they had stopped all communication with their mother.

The boys each graduated with a business degree by age twenty, and all chose to go into service. Hudson entered the Marines and served in the Delta Force. Jax became a Navy SEAL, and Cooper was an Army Ranger. The boys enjoyed their independence and service in the military, but once they had discovered mismanagement at Montgomery Mining following their father’s death, they each left when their contracts ran out. Hudson had returned first and had already made great strides by the time his brothers joined him at the helm. Today Montgomery Mining is the largest mining operation in the world. Their cutting edge tech and research make them a leader in their field. The brothers now live in the spotlight as eligible billionaire bachelors.

After returning to the civilian life, the brothers didn’t give up on serving their country. They organized an undercover operation to help with hostage rescues in cases where the U.S. government cannot help. The government conveniently looks the other way, but if the veil of secrecy is pierced and Last Hope becomes known to the public, their operation will be forced to shut down. PRO, a similar organization that Mason’s brother Jett had participated in, had been forced to shut down following a helicopter crash that alerted the public to its existence. Last Hope is now one of the last places families and companies can turn to in a crisis, so secrecy is of paramount importance.

In this book:

This book opens about one month after the close of Mason’s in Billionaire Unattainable, book fourteen of the series. The Montgomery brothers have just taken unprecedented time off together – nine days – to help celebrate their cousin Mason and Laura’s wedding in Seattle.

Hudson Montgomery, thirty-four, works tirelessly at Montgomery Mining. He has a beautiful beach home in Del Mar that he doesn’t have time to enjoy. The women he has known are only interested in his name or his money. All his relationships have ended in disappointment, and he has given up on the idea that a woman might actually care about him. He enjoyed spending time with his cousin Mason and his family, and had left things under control at the company prior to leaving. He certainly hadn’t anticipated that management would fail to reach out to them in the event of a crisis, so he and Jax are rightfully angered upon their return to learn that three of their employees on an assignment in the Mediterranean island nation of Lania have been held for nine days by rebels. It was thought that the little nation had been rid of its guerilla resistance in the two years since Crown Prince Niklaos had taken control, bringing an influx of interest in the island. The safety of the mission had not even been a question. In their absence, the company had negotiated the release of Harlow Davis, but two remained behind. One male and one summer intern. Mark and Taylor. The rebels were notoriously brutal, and after nine days’ time the survival of the remaining two was unlikely.

Taylor Delaney, twenty-eight, is alone in the world. Although her childhood was tragic, it had her led to Mac Tanaka. Mac had taken her in at age eleven. He was in his seventies, and she and the older man made for an odd sort of family. He became her only parent figure. In the ten years she had with him, he had taken an angry girl and shaped her into the woman she had become. He taught her Tai Chi and chess as well as the Eastern philosophy that he picked up from his Japanese ancestry. She was taught the tools she needed to master herself and her emotions so that her emotions rarely got the best of her. Mac had encouraged Taylor to attend college, and she was ready to head off to Stanford when he was diagnosed with cancer. Taylor chose to delay her studies and instead spend every last day possible taking care of the man that had raised her. Mac died when she was twenty-one. In the last seven years, she attended Stanford and worked to help support herself as she completed her master’s degree in environmental geology. She snapped up an opportunity to intern over the summer at Montgomery Mining, hoping the coveted opportunity would help prepare her for the job market.

When Hudson and Jax personally go on Last Hope’s mission to save their employees, there is little chance of success. But Hudson was drawn to the redhead beauty whose picture and bio connected with him in a mysterious way. They share a lost childhood, though in different ways. Her brief story tells him that she is a survivor, and that gives him a glimmer of hope as he determinedly sets out to rescue her.

Hudson and Taylor’s story includes danger in foreign lands and patient romance as the couple is brought together under extreme circumstances. Taylor is brilliant and independent-minded. The control over her thoughts that Mac taught her proves to be an incredible shield as she faces brutal circumstances that would cripple others emotionally. The way she deals with her captivity and its aftermath inspire deep questions about mind over matter. Her sarcasm cannot be held back, and her sassy attitude takes Hudson completely by surprise. Her strength of mind, her selflessness, and her independence win him over almost immediately. Hudson’s protection and attentive care feel alien to Taylor, but it endears him to her as well. The couple faces issues of guilt and trust as they dance around their feelings for one another. The couple eventually earns their happy ending.

Jax’s story with Harlow follows in the next book in the series and gets a short introduction here.

For those following the ages of the Montgomery children, Hudson is the oldest and has just turned thirty-four. Jax follows at thirty-three and is ten months younger than Hudson. They all came back to back, so Cooper is roughly thirty-two and Riley thirty-one.

Hudson sets out to find Taylor in a hostage rescue mission, but love finds them in the aftermath. The story is well-written. The plot is somewhat complex. The characters are carefully crafted. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Hudson and Taylor, with one chapter in Jax’s POV. I rate this book 4.5 stars.

As for the Audio: it is very well-performed and consistent with the book. For me, the fabulous deep tones of the male voice were harder to follow when I increased the speed. The male voice was sometimes on the fast side, so I found myself rewinding and/or slowing down.

I received an audiobook and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Great story

Taylor is in a bad situation that has her being rescued by Hudson and his brothers in the beginning of the book and in the process of her being rescued and building her life back up she and Hudson find their way together. Hudson's book was an exciting, challenging & interesting read form me, but I ended up loving the story.

I am a fan of Elizabeth Powers narration, but she and Brian Pallino really bring these characters to life in the telling of this story.

Emotional and really loving

This is the 15th book in the The Billionaire's Obsession series, and it's unlike any of the others. It was emotional, cathartic and

Taylor and Hudson are brought together by a tense hostage situation. Hudson, Taylor's employer, is also on her rescue team. They develop an intense bond during her rescue, and Hudson feels an immediate connection and longing. He wants to keep her safe, he wants to make this experience up to her, and he wants to give her better memories.

Taylor is not naive, but she is inexperienced when it comes to love and that kind of emotional connection. She also suffered much cruelty at the hands of her captors while being held hostage. But she knows in the depths of heart that Hudson would never hurt her. She trusts him before he trusts herself.

This was a very good listen. I loved that this had dual narration, with Brian Pallino voicing Hudson's chapters. Elizabeth Powers is excellent, as she has been this entire series.
