The Blackwood Pack saga continues...

This is part of an ongoing series by Amazon best-selling author Mary Rundle and catching up on previous titles is advised. Listeners or readers of the past books will enjoy meeting old friends once more as the pack does what it does best - caring for one another and helping shifters everywhere.

Dr. Ian Wallace, a rare Scottish wolf, has dedicated his life to saving and healing wolf shifters by joining Frontline Doctors. Determined never to take a mate, he avoids relationships and is content to live a nomadic life, taking assignments to wild and remote places. That is, until an old friend asks him for a favor, which Ian’s wolf will not let him refuse. Now on his way to the Blackwood Pack compound, his wolf becomes frantic, and Ian learns not only that he has a fated mate, but that his fated mate is in danger.

Colton was forced to give up his dreams of becoming a nurse and joining Frontline Doctors when tragedy befell his family. Instead, he healed sick animals around his home while hiding from a pack who wanted him dead. Given the chance to use his skills, Colton seizes it and embarks on a journey that will reveal just how special he is.

A kidnapping, slave auction, revelations of long-kept family secrets, and a rare, powerful gift from the gods are some of the surprises in store for both of them until they finally find their way into each other’s hearts after discovering neither is who the other thought he was.

amazing 2nd book.

I am really enjoying these books. The connection that all the characters have with each other not just the fated mates.
As the story continues to unfold and we learn more about each person, the mates and the situation I fall a little more in love with the whole family
Once again, NJR does a fantastic job bringing these written words to life

Very enjoyable!

This book was very sad to read. I had tears in my eyes as I read how the brothers had grown up with a father that didn’t love them for who they were. From book one to the second one I got wrapped in and as I listened I felt like I was a part of the pack. Everything about the story is well written and it’s why I’ve given five stars for story, performance and overall interest in the series.

This book is even better than the first one! What a great series. So glad to have many more to go. It's going to be a roller coaster unraveling all the facets of the Blackwood Pack!

Thrilling, magical, HOT, exciting

All the things! Nick J. Russo and Mary Rundle ate a match made in heaven as far as authors and narrators go. I loved the books in print form, and Nick give it just that extra special something to make it feel brand new again to listen to.

Raphael’s Power Audiobook
MMy Thoughts Confessions and Review
❤🧡💛💚💙💜

First, a personal message to the author: Mary Darlin’, it is not very nice to make old dragon blubber like they were watching a scene from an old Patrick Swayze film. Not once, but twice I had to grab tissues. Ugly snotty crying I tell ya… I totally forgive you but only if you promise to keep releasing these books to audio. Nick Russo does such a wonderful job voicing this family of shifters, and even their enemies. Oh, and when laid back Max had to use HIS Alpha voice to calm all the other alphas, whoa that was hawt! So, keep ‘em comin’! Please! I will be oh so grateful, though I cannot vouch for my tear ducts.

Now, for everyone else, this is a continuing series (my favorite kind) with a different brother or member of the pack finding their fated mate. This pack is different in that they’ve been blessed by the Fates and when each one finds their fated it unlocks a special gift or power inside of them and it often reveals a secret (hidden) gift in their mate as well. A remarkably interesting take on shifters, especially specific types of wolf shifters you don’t hear much about. I’ve said before, but it’s always worth mentioning again, how much fun it is to see the different directions authors take legends and lore. This series is working hard to become one of my favorites.

Rundle does a great job of not letting the MCs from the first book get left behind in the shadows. She also slowly brings the other secondary cast members closer to the spotlight. We learn little nuggets about them and their personalities. I love character-driven stories, and this is absolutely that. Its images are made manifest through Russo’s various voice talents and I am telling you, picturing Ian with wet black curly hair speaking in his Scottish brogue…DONE! Just DONE! *sigh…

I loved the MCs in book two. Ian, a doctor, and Colton an “almost” nurse already have a rapport through their various phone conversations, even if they were only medical or hospital-related. I loved how dedicated Colton was to help, and his special gift made it that much more lovely. Nurses have a special place in my heart anyway (love you mom), and I think it takes the spirit of a gladiator and with the heart of an angel to be one. Colton was every bit that and more, and that was even before meeting his beautiful Scottish Doctor, Ian, face to face. Not everything is glorious and perfect though, and an old enemy has a long reach.

While Dire Warning (book one) made me want to “Van Damme” someone in the face, a lot (in a good way), book two had me nail-biting, mumbling to myself about how people never listen, and Boys are so stubborn (I know, I raised four), etc.… then the tears came. I do not cry (refer to paragraph one), but lemme tell ya something Virginia, there be times when even an old crotchety woman’s black heart can squeeze out an emotion or two.

I love this family and their protectiveness and love for one another. They are only two mates in and already the pack is adding life and beauty to a world they once believed to be their living nightmare of survival. With each challenge, they grow in power, strength, number, and spirit. I cannot wait to see what the Fates have in store for the next brother. His love story is already in jeopardy and it hasn’t even begun yet.

If you love wolf shifter series, you cannot miss this one. The audio version is wonderful!

I love this series

This series is one of my favorites and listening to the audio makes it 2x enjoyable. The narrator is spot on, even Ian's Scottish accent. I listened to it in bits and pieces because I did not want it to end. This is a series I will be listening to over and over. o highly recommend both the book and the audio.

I was gifted an audio code for this book and my review is of my own choice.

Frisky Shifters

Audiobook Review by Mel
5 Blue Roses
5 Blue Flames

All hail narrator Nick J. Russo! He gave a howling hot performance of the hottest paranormal shifter romance of the year! Listeners will want to hop on, and never get off, this gravy train of never-ending fucking. Nick just kept his head high and proudly read the sex scene after sex scene. Hitting home runs, tapping all those bases, more than once, even backward, with or without lube. Those frisky shifters were slamming it almost too much.

I am impressed with how many voices Nick can do. I heard more than ten voices. His voice manipulation and tone of his regular reading voice has grown into his own. Gone are the monotonous reading, look out world here come Nick J Russo! Every audiobook I hear narrated by him just gets better every time.

As for the shifters, how they ever ended up dying out I will never know. This series is peppered with paranormal beings, insta-love, and ice-bucket challenge matings. I loved every moment of it. I got sucked into the drama of the plot and each time we flip over to mating shenanigans, I wanted to howl at the moon. I wanted to pull my hair out, the tension and story were truly gripping. I was so invested in it, for the first time in my life, shhh (don’t tell anybody), I skipped the sex to get to the story.

I look forward to the rest of this series. I absolutely recommend it.

Happy Listening
