Could not put it down

Every word spoken from this book has provided me comfort at times when nothing else could. Sure makes you realize the power of perception when reading one other reviewer’s negative comments! Nothing about this book seemed depressing to me. It seemed to ease any suffering I may have been experiencing and caused me to reframe and see through an eternal perspective that gave me hope and encouragement that although I may have experienced the worst pain i could ever imagine, that I just might “live” and even live with more purpose and intention than ever before while honoring my precious son “Isaiah’s” life in the process!!!

For those grieving and supporting!!

I received your audiobook as a free gift to try and write a review on months ago. My son Aidan died at the age of 14 by suicide on 8 DEC 2018. I was there and held him as he died. I haven't been able to listen or read any of the books I was gifted for the past three years, but today I decided to complete this one because it is quick and I could listen while walking in the woods. I have been getting counseling from the start. Also, I have done a lot of research on my own to understand the teen brain, and to work through my PTSD. EMDR seems to be the only thing that really makes a difference besides tools from counseling and your book as well as time learning to manage and often avoid the grief. The guilt is unbearable!!! I love all the books comments on forgiveness, questions to ponder, breathing techniques and other helpful tools. I do think this is a book to listen to at different times over grief and for those supporting people that have lost a child. I was an emotional book to listen to, but only because I felt like my emotions and grief were validate. I needed something short with practical tools that got to the point. This book hit the mark.

Depressing

I am not buying grief books that start with such depressing introductions that set the stage for more pain just listening to their belief systems that they project on to parents loss of a child .
Sorry I could not even get to the 7 steps as I felt worse with every word this author put in my heart on how bad grief is with the loss of a child .
I say stay away from authors who speak these words of suffering and put them in your head .
Find your way through without their stories added to your grief. Feel your heart and your child’s heart and that will give you your guidance and direct truth to recovery. Don’t add others stories to yours. Yours is yours to honor without someone assuming they know your suffering and add more to it with their own assumptions.
Your love is your way through and the love for your child’s will hold you beyond anyone else .
