Publisher's summary

Even Hell needs a hero.

Aidan Ward works security at a mental institution, but sometimes he thinks he should have been on the other side of the cells. Ever since he was young, a strange voice has whispered to him. A voice that grows loudest in times of rage.

After an encounter with a beautiful stranger, Aidan finds himself in the Abyss, a hellish landscape filled with lost souls, demons, and nightmarish beasts. But the most powerful beings in this infernal plane are Seekers, preternatural warriors who harness their inner Flame to become gods and godslayers. Reigning above them all is the Obsidian Emperor.

To survive in the Abyss, Aidan must become a Seeker. Yet his body is cursed, his channels of Flame permanently blocked by an ancient legacy. When a young succubus tries to slay him, Aidan discovers a spiritual affinity for her instead, a gift of that same heritage. By joining with her in body and spirit, Aidan creates his own path to power.

But Aidan's arrival has not gone unnoticed. Those who would challenge the Obsidian Emperor believe that Aidan's ancestry is the key to victory. For the Obsidian Emperor, fearing a portent of his doom, has issued a decree that threatens the very fabric of the planes. Some will hunt him. Others will covet him. Danger will follow him, wherever he goes.

Master. Savior. Ruler. The Path of the Flame leads down many roads. But first, Aidan must cultivate the inner power fueling himself and his demonic bonds before the rising threats overwhelm them. And through it all, the dark voice in Aidan's heart grows louder and louder...

Flame of the Succubus marries elements of xianxia, dark fantasy, western mythology, and video games. The listener should expect explicit scenes and a heavier tone that matches the growth of a succubus harem in a hellish setting. Co-cultivation of Aidan and his succubi is also integral to the progression fantasy elements. You have been warned.

Very Good

I bought this thinking it was only going to be marginal at best. I was very pleasantly surprised at the plot and character development. Definitely will keep an eye out for #2. My only minor comment is the narrator isn’t very good at female voices. (He’s a guy so I suppose it’s allowed) Worth buying.

This is a torture device!

What ever the narrator got paid was too much. I got so angry by how he buried any possibility of me either enjoying this novel or rating it fairly that my first several attempts at leaving a review devolved into angry rants. Here's my honest opinion. It's a smut harem novel with xianxia/wuxia elements that has some potential, but reeks of lack of research and author's inexperience. None the less it may have been a fun read if the narrator didn't pick it up and make it into an audio equivalent of some gruesome and gory serial killer's trophy. In my honest opinion the cover artist's the only one that I feel deserves my honest, unreserved praise, when it comes to this particular novel.

Better then most in this genre,

However with that said and a MC who is not naive or an a** it just was not believable. The sex scenes was just not realistic. Don't get me wrong perhaps in a book 2 or 3 they would be but not in book 1. In a book 1 the MC would or should want to savor his first but instead he always had sloppy seconds which is fine in a longer relationship but do you or anyone really want to go second when its your first time with someone?

A great story with horrible narration.

While i enjoy the tale, but the narrator is so boring with a dry and monotone voice. This guy should not be reading erotica.

needs a lady to narrate

the narrator is almost monotone when it comes to the female parts. almost no inflection or really anything considered performance when it comes to the narrator a lot of times it's enough to pull you out of the book and make you concentrate on how bad of a job the narrator is doing. the narrator alone is almost enough reason for me not to want to continue the series and there's definitely enough for me not to listen to this book again

Great Story

Wonderful new lands, great story, unique and memorable main characters. Loved the fight scenes, the internal and external conflict with the main character. The different voices made it so you could more invested in the story. Just a great first book for the series. I can't wait for the rest of the series.
