yikes…

My main qualm with this story is the narrator. Her inflections and choice of interpreting the author’s words make the main character seem naive, and immature, and easily impressed. The narrator makes everything sound complex and important when this book is so simple it hardly qualifies as something worth reading/listening to.

The story is definitely based in smut, I heard this was more of a slowburn but it most certainly is not. The plot doesn’t feel very progressive, and it doesn’t make much logical sense.

There’s no established characters back stories, the author chooses to establish the “relationships” (sexual attraction) between the characters instead

Decent reverse harem story

The narrator had an annoying extending ending fry elongation hiss at the end of EVERY WORD. But I withstood it. She also uses a voice that doesn't seem to match the "age" of the written words.

Just wow!

This has to be one of my favorite series, this is a great work of writing well done the storyline is fresh new and outstanding development of the MC and harem.

Narrator was amazing she kept the men and all the charactures voices different without any slips between them.

I highly recommend this book

I loved it

Even if it’s not what I typically listen to I loved loved it. I really appreciate that this had a story that was healing and sweet as well as interesting. It hit some high points for me through out where I was like oh wow that’s awesome but it also hit low points just like a great story should. I am trying not to spoil anything but the ending was so sweet 🥲

Good story

It was a good story. I like how the author included a lot of details throughout the series and didn’t over repeat them in every book. The main character comes across as more naive and whining at times than I would have preferred, but she does develop into a stronger woman which I appreciated. The four guardians were decently enticing and I would have loved to have more background on them. Crispin’s background is essential for the story and it was great to learn but I would truly love to know more about the other three. All in all, a good read and absolutely worth spending the credit!

No thank you

The narrator's voice is enjoyable, but the story and its flow are lacking. To be honest, these books belong in the erotica category. This book will be ideal if you prefer your story to develop in such a manner. For me, it is preferable to have the intimate moments alluded to rather than described in graphic detail.

Odd writing style

1st it is great that this is a boxed set. However, The book is written is 1st person present tense and is odd to follow. I did not find the book engaging by the 7th chapter so I am returning it.

Very Choppy Story

I found this story hard to listen to and follow because the flow was very sudden and choppy feeling. in one moment the characters are involved in something intense here, and the next second something else completely different happens and I feel like I was left with some whiplash. character development is lacking and any growth that happens, occurs all at once in another sudden and unexplained way.

But if you're here for some described reverse harem content, Winter has her four guardians that become hers early on, and are a regular erotic part of the story, even in moments where it's hard imagining anyone seeking sexual pleasure.

Surprisingly Offensive, DNF at about 20%

I'm fine with a fast-burn but this was bordering on assault. She knows almost nothing about magic as she was raised in the human world. They do a ritual that bonds her to the Guardians (the 4 men) and it has the effect of a love potion. She literally asks "Isn't this rape?" and the men respond by laughing at her and saying "the bond isn't always sexual, so it means you're attracted to us." Because it can't be rape if you're attracted to the person. They later admit that the ritual wasn't strictly entirely necessary. All this would be fine if it was a bully romance or intentionally toxic, but it isn't.

I kept expecting it to get better and it just didn't. They just met her and are trying to get her clothes off at every turn. It's not played as enemies to lovers or a bully romance. They're supposed to be angels/ guardians. So this feels incredibly disrespectful and out of place, boarding on (and sometimes crossing) the line into sexual assault.

Other surprises included subtly homophobic moments, slut shaming a character as a way of establishing that character as a villain, and a shockingly dumb FMC. She's supposed to be age 22, but reads closer to age 15.

This was toxic and not in the fun way.
I really wanted to love it, but I'm honestly just disappointed I wasted a credit.

Performance: I loved the actress's accent, but she gave each line the same intonation in a repetitive lilting pattern. It was hard to follow, but that quality would make it incredibly soothing and easy to fall asleep. So it would be a perfect bedtime story if you don't care about the plot.
