Nice read
This was an enjoyable book with an interesting hero. I liked how his family members all had real moments with each other. The narration was excellent. A minor frustration point was that I had to fast forward through most of Mary's internal dialog because it became repetitive and lacked growth until the last quarter. I would have found it more interesting had she had more moments of clarity and insight.

in 20+ years of Romance Novels one of the Best
I started reading historical romance novels in year 2000 and this one so far has risen to number 1 for me. As teen loved Jane Eyre but have read 100s of romance novels and this is now my number 1. I read it first but since getting audio Book I listen to this one repeatedly. It's a clean story but such a good story. 5 stars from me!!!

really good but felt incomplete
I loved this book but the only reason why I gave it four stars all the way through is because it felt incomplete to me but besides that the story was one of the best I've listened to. made me squeal like a schoolgirl and I definitely did some crying

I hated how badly everybody treated the heroine and that they all called her ugly.
