I think this is the best book of the series so far

A lot of threads, some coming together, but some still in question. Shannon’s stories are well made, and this is no exception. Just when I start thinking I know where things are going, something flips out from under me and the pieces are now fitting in a different way.
“Life is short. Let’s laugh at the a**holes” has got to be the best quote of the whole series!
Just over 2 hours left in the reading and I have a sneaking suspicion about where she’s going to find one of the stones, but I won’t spoil anything. Now I can’t stop… I have to see if I’m right… or is this just one more twist that I’m thinking is right and will turn out to be a puzzle piece fitting in the wrong spot again?
About 20 minutes later, my suspicion is confirmed… WOOT! Still more twists followed after that though. I must admit I’d be curious to see the extent of the Emperor’s family tree. I think this is the best book of the series so far.

What an ending!!

First off I have to say
It’s. About. Time. Steve. Gets. Knocked. Down!!!!
That had to be the best part of the entire book! Not really, but man was I squealing.

The book continues with Zam, Lila, and Max having to free the emporer in order to get the rest of the gems and take on the “world ending” falak. You may say you’re used to Mayer’s twists and turns in her stories but there is just NO way you could have seen what came to pass, just no way. We spend the whole series guessing who the bad guy is, each book points us in a new directions and a new way of think but Who would have thought the true evil was so close at heart and in plain sight all along.
I love how the book wrapped up but I am very glad there’s another installment!

I am so sorry this series is over. Shannon can stretch out a series far too long. I have cringed with some of her books, they can go on & on. Not this series!! I loved this series. It was fun, surprising, sexy, scary, amazing, had twists and kept me glued to the "page." And, now it is done. I will reread the series, that is for sure! I am so happy I got this series and just as sorry it is over. Buy this! You won't be sorry.

Curse you Shannon! This one broke me!!!

I thought my mind was left reeling after the last book. I didn't think anything could top that in the deception arena but boy I was wrong! I didn't see any of this coming! One know out punch after another! Then my heart breaks into a million pieces! Curse you Shannon Mayer! Curse you! This one was beyond epic! Thank goodness you did not end the series here (so you are slightly forgiven!)!

Oh that ending!

I stayed up all night reading, I couldn't put it down. So many feels from this book and this series as a whole. Zam and Maks may be one of my all time favorite couples, and I can't wait for everyone else to read this and find out how this series ends. Twists, turns, delights, surprises and shocks all await the readers. This author never fails to make you FEEL as you listen to her books. I'm super excited that she's got another book coming!

Brilliant!

Shannon Mayer concludes the series in a brilliant way. I think this may be my favorite book of the series and I've loved all of them! Zam, Maks, and Lila are some of my favorite characters and I'm going to miss going on adventures with them. There were so many twists and turns in this book that I didn't see coming and I could not put the book down until I finished. Mayer reminds you that things aren't always what they seem to be and “love [doesn't] make you weak; it [gives] you the strength to dig deep.”

And as always, Lauren Fortgang does a spectacular job!

tied up in a bow

although I loved the stories. this book seemed to switch around everything that had come before and then tie everything up in neat little bows. that was a little disappointing but again, the story was good. the adventure was good. it's just that all of the sudden the main character seem to understand everything and know everything. I know that was because of the fallac, but it seemed a little too good to be true. and the ending, after all the buildup, seemed quite anti-climactic. so this wasn't my favorite book in the series. if you like. happy tidy endings you'll like this one!

Perfect.

The perfect end to a series, but with the promise of so much more to come. I can't wait for the continuation and new adventures.

Blown away!!

This book was amazing and it had me on the edge of my seat. Lauren Fortgang, the narrator does a fabulous job!! She truly brings the characters to life.
It was full of action, heartache, badass fighting, and jaw dropping discoveries. So much happened, that I’m still recovering from a book hangover. It is so good and I’m sure you will love it. Trust me, you will love this trio. They will work themselves into your heart and you will find loving some of the other characters as well. MUST listen!

This is how a series should be. Shannon just creates awesome worlds and awesome characters that add up to one fantastic story. Can not get enough Zam! Can't wait for more.
