Captivating

I was so caught up in the story that I had to download the next one immediately. I love the characters and the story is so original. I really started to think about the afterlife and how this might work. Get imaginary. The narrator was very good as well. I just can’t wait to start the next book.

Love It

I love Valkyries so I was quite excited to see Arizona Tape's academy book is all about Valkyries. I love the classes and learning about the veil and Valhalla. We head to The Afterlife Academy with Ylva and find her training to become an afterlife assistant is not quite what she was expecting.

I love the side characters and seeing the difference in the Wind Children, Dragons, and Wood Elves. The budding friendship/relationship between Ylva and Ryoko is so sweet. Pickles the dust bunny is so adorable, I want one of my own. There's a lot packed into this quick read that left me eagerly awaiting more.

I enjoyed the narration and how she brought the story and characters alive.

Great Character Growth!

So I will start of by saying this book was a hard start for me. The main character starts of as unlikable, simply with the fact that she is so judgmental, self absorbed and thinks less of all the other Afterlife Assistance and is offended an Elf was going to school to be a Valkyrie instead of a Reaper. I kept going hoping she will grow and I'm glad I did! She definitely starts to see things from a different perspective, she learns more from her roommate and as she learns more, she is also growing herself as a person and discovers new things about herself. I related to her so much in the self discovery, the confusion she has about what she's feeling, how she's feeling, who she is really and even what is her sexuality. This is a hot and cold for her because it is confusing at first because if you are taught all your life one way and feel different it makes you feel like you are broken or wrong. I was so devastated when the story ended because I wanted to keep going to see what is next, will she get clarity and what is happening to the world. I highly recommend this book and want the rest of the series ASAP!

Worth it

I picked this story up on a whim and I promise you won't regret it! At first i found the mc annoying but i pushed through and found it to be absolutely an amazing book. I'll be reading through the rest soon!
