But there was another involved: a mysterious phantom witness who may have the answer to the entire mystery. But the closer Banning gets to learning the identity of the killer, the more he realizes that he himself is marked to become the next body to be found!

Suspense and Intrigue!

This is the second book in the Mark Banning Mystery Series. I haven't listened to the first book yet. I liked the characters, the suspense, and the intrigue. There is a lot going on in this installment. The investigation is well crafted and captivating. Looking forward to listening to Blackmail to Murder, the next book in the Series. Tim Lundeen did a great job with the narration.

I enjoyed this who-done-it mystery. it had lots of twists and turns. it was well written and easy to follow. Tim Lundeen did a great job with the narration.

I love a great who done it mystery. Although this story involves a murder & rape investigation it’s a clean well written story and not at all graphic.
There were a variety of amazing characters.
The narration was absolutely amazing. Tim Lundee has a great story telling voice and absolutely captured each character perfectly, whether it’s a teenager, men & women or an old man, he’s a brilliant narrator.
I recommend this book!

this was a very entertaining story. this story runs you through a gauntlet of twists and turns I love it

Needs a good edit

I listened to it all - but there are too many inconsistencies to describe. The plot tried hard to be intricate, but the ages of people kept shifting... for example, the girl is over 18 so the police say to wait 24 hours, but then there is a charge of statutory rape... and I cannot tell what era it is set in. We go from a secretary that pulls a laptop from a drawer to use a dial up modem to a PI with GPS phone trackers...

Overall, I liked the characters and I liked the narrator. The whole thing though.. is in need of an editor.

Warning for adult themes, (but nothing explicit). Warning for religious moralizing (sex before marriage). No swearing.
