A compelling and unique thriller

A doctor plots a murder, that he intends to write about to become famous. Can someone so smart committ the perfect murder?

The story builds up well and unravels at a good pace. The point of view of the killer is interesting, albeit could have been more informative of his reasons. The point of view of the detective was well portrayed and linked cleverly to the elements of the killer. It was refreshing to hear a story from this different perspective knowing who the killer was upfront and hearing the story unravel from that perspective.

I liked the narrator. He had good intonation and energy and had good tones of voice to add the right amount of suspense where required.

The point of view of a psico

I've listen to this second book without having read the first and didn't miss anything, nor did I find spoilers, so for me it totally works as a standalone book.
This story is very interesting in the way it alternates between the point of view of the detective and the one of the murderer, that we meet from the start. For me that is the most interesting character and I find very amusing that in his mind the reason for killing is to do research for his crime book. Of course he hardly get's anything done and does some very rookie mistakes, but it's cool to follow along as the detectives puzzle together the clues to catch him.
Overall is a good story and the excelente narration at all levels just improves the experience. I really recommend this one as an audiobook.

totally captivating

I liked Eric's answer to problems-KILL!!! LOL. I'm not sure why, but I rooted for Eric to evade the cops. The cops ex girlfriend was a conniving skeeve, plus she tried to ruin his new relationship with a fellow cop. Low!! I got pulled in with the storyline and narration and it was all so believable it captivated me. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review.

Great story, great voice....

It was great fun to me to listen to "Inspired by Murder". Also, Patrick Zeller does a great job narrating it. Sometimes it was a bit confusing / hard to know who is who and what is going on - but the book was very entertaining altogether. Recommended.

Inspiried by Murder

Dr. Eric Leroy wants to be a famous author. He thinks the only way to accomplish this is by completing the actual murders for inspiration, The story was fun and had some edge of your seat moments. I was sad that he was not the brightest killer and thought he could get away with killing so many people so close to him and thinking the cops would not suspect him. And his accent was defiantly giving him away at crime scenes. The narrator did a great job with the book and an awesome Australian Accent.

Dark Humor amid Murder

Inspired by Murder
Audrey J. Cole

This is a very unusual murder mystery, told from the narcissistic psychopath point of view. A psychiatrist decides he wants to write a best selling murder mystery. In order to write about it he needs to research it. To research he does it. The bodies start piling up. There are many twists and turns that almost made me dizzy. I found dark humor mixed in with the drama.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Patrick Zeller was quite entertaining.

Interesting book…

Kept me interested through the end. The story makes you wonder whether it’s believable…but it’s not too cringy that it couldn’t be. I enjoyed it enough to invest in the author’s other books.
