Touching

I don’t listen a lot to this genre but I really enjoyed listening to it. There was nothing bad or vulgar in the story just sweet story of one woman’s escape from emotionally abusive husband and finding true love in least expected place. I only wish the story was longer. Definitely worth a listen. I was given this audio in exchange for honest review.

Great story

What a great reading of our heroines diary. I like the characters and found Eagle Feather, to be a great rendering of a difficult time and why we embrace others. I was sad to hear about the white man terrible push to wipe out the Indians. Though you hear it in history books this story brought it to life. Narrator did excellent job.

Pioneer Rescued by an Indian

I just love historical fictions and especially envolving the pioneers and Indians. I feel many of these types of stories unfortunately misrepresent the Native Americans so I am always a little leary. This story is fantastic, It about a woman going west with her husband and young son. When her abusive husband gets hurt and is unable to travel she and her son are forced by him to stay behind. She decides to leave him when it is very clear that she and her son will die if they don't leave and try to get to the nearest Fort to weather out the winter. She didn't leave soon enough and both Lorie and her son nearly freeze to death in the storm but are rescued by a man. The story that follows in is exciting, sweet and heartwarming story written in a journal format. The narration is very well done and I really enjoyed listening. It's a nice clean story as well. I highly recommend to those who like historical fiction romances.

Not in the history books!

A romanticized journal-style account of our Native Americans, more so pre-Civil War than after. A heart-warming tale of a female settler and her son rescued from a blizzard by an Indian Chief. More accurate than not, I believe this is exactly what might have happened in the days before the Civil War and the white man’s rush to claim the West for his own. The warm tale is given a happy ending. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Snow Woman

This book pulled me in from the beginning. Wagon trains and the Native American culture has always interested me. I thought the Native American side of the story was well represented. Snow Woman was rescued by Eagle Feather after she got lost in a snow storm. They married and she had a baby. The major theme of the story is security and how Snow Woman found security during a tumultuous time in history.

I was slightly confused by the character of Snow Woman however. Time passed in the book (based on the ages of the children), but it was unclear how long had passed. Her actions at the end reminded me of someone who had only with the the Native Americans for a short time, instead of the ten years that I estimated to have passed.

Sara Morsey did an excellent job with the narration and made the listen very enjoyable.
