Better to read

This volume is a bunch of short (or not so short) stories by 5 different authors.
To be honest none of the stories really grabbed my attention. I though the idea of telling a story by a series of letters interesting but what in my opinion contributed to the not so good review was the the narrator. It's not that he is not good (ok, maybe sometimes I do think it feels like he is just reading - failing the emotion), I have to give the effort for the different accents in the book (He even tries to sing). Still, we can't normally separate the narrator from one story to the other and it was kind of hilarious the british narrator suddenly switching to some kind of texan accent of the characters (I'm just guessing the accents, really).
So, in the end, I recommend to read this volume instead of listening - I think you can get the real voice of each author much better that way.

Strange stories

Each story is slightly strange and leaves you feeling weird. Some are spell binding, but others are just okay. The narrator has an excellent voice. These stories are short enough to be entertaining.

Realms of Adventure

This is a collection of fantasy short stories with plenty of action. From junkies to giant worms, sea monsters to haunted violins, the authors take you through tales of assassins, mages and magic.

I especially enjoyed the stories written by Drew Briney and look forward to reading more by him. "Slice" was especially haunting in its depiction of the life of a junkie where everything you do is for your next fix.

Some of the stories ended rather abruptly without a real ending, but maybe that is because the author intends to write more in the tale.

The narrator does a good job except for the one story set in Utah. I enjoyed that story a lot with the historical telling of the Mormons, Brigham Young and the Dannites. But, the narrator was horrible at trying to depict a Western accent! It would have been better if he had just stuck to his British accent.

Good listening

This was provided to me free in exchange for an unbiased review. When I read/listened to this book, I first thought I would be listening to 5 books, not 5 stories. I prefer books, but started listening. All the stores are worth hearing. Some ended well, while others were not gentle with their main character. I am impressed with the writing and already follow some of the authors. I will start following the other authors. I recommend this audiobook for others to hear!
