Good Short Story That Could Be Expanded Upon

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
Girl Gone Nova was a really good short story, although it ended somewhat abruptly. The concept of a spoiled brat princess isn’t necessarily unique but the sci-fi aspect that she’ll unintentionally blow up a universe if she gets upset is something new. I’d like to see this book expanded upon or sequels be made in this universe as there’s not much room to explore in the span of just over two hours. I was really intrigued by the world the author built and it sounded like there was a lot more to this universe than just the portion we were given a glimpse of in this novella.
Overall this was a really good short story that I’d listen to again with a group on a short drive. If there are sequels released I’d definitely be interested in checking them out. I think there is a lot of room for character growth and world building.
I thought the narrator was good, she did accents and changed tone for the characters, but the audio was a bit off. It sounded like there was an echo as if this was recorded on an omni-directional microphone in an open room. Since it was only a short story I was able to deal with this but in the future I’d suggest they adjust their microphone settings.

Explosive romance

What do you do with a spoiled alien princess who's the slightest displeasure could lead to the destruction of your world? You give her to the world's best agent and pray she doesn't cause the end of all things! Great short, so much fun. Hope there is a sequel.

its ok

the story is fun and action packed but too short. There is not enough time to develop characters or care about them.

Good, quick read.

First, I have to start off by stating that I got this book free of charge in exchange for a review, but as I always state, this does not in any way impact my review. My reviews are always honest and my own.

I enjoyed the mini book. I would have liked it to be longer so we can really experience the fullness of the novel.

Interesting!

Interesting book! The only strange part for me was the robot teddy bear! Cool story and great narrator!!! Would love to listen to another book by this narrator.

Just ok

while I enjoyed the book, after reading the PinkiePie book from this author I expected more.

it may have been the performance but the various characters to some degree seemed interchangeable (except Teddy)

I'll skip the rest of this series but not the author.

I received a copy of the book in exchange for a review

Interesting idea brought down by writing and audio

Looking at the other reviews, I feel I'm missing something. I'm mostly a fan of this author's work, but this seems rushed and very one-dimensional. It starts off really strong, and then seems just be "this happened" and "that happened" in between major events that leave zero emotional impact because you're not really tied to any of the characters.

As seems to be the case with some of this author's work, this book seemed to be narrated by a novice in a bathroom stall. Don't get me wrong, she has a very pleasant voice, but she's just reciting the words and not really TELLING the story if you get my drift. It also sounds like we're standing by the sink while she's reading in a closed bathroom stall. Production quality could be much better.

Overall, not a BAD story, but not one I'd recommend to anyone either

No Real Character Growth

I received this book for free. I am voluntarily leaving this review and all opinions expressed herein are mine.

Here, an alien princess arrives on Earth and is provided with a handler to cater to all of her whims.

I thought/hoped that this was going to be a fun or sarcastic social commentary but it is not. Instead there is a superficial narcissistic princess who has desires like an out of control toddler - sort of like Veruca Salt on Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory [I want the goose who laid the golden egg and I want it now.] She asks for hurricanes, pyramids, the crown jewels, etc. and is never denied. Unfortunately, for me, while I believed there would be growth, change in her character - there really wasn't and it became too much of the same note.

Other reviewers expressed problems with the audio, I did not hear any. I thought the narrator did a good job, provided voices for the different characters and kept a good pace.

Short Story but Good

This is a short story and, as such can’t delve deeply in character development the same way a book can. Then again, you’re not spending as much. I requested this from the author with the agreement that I would review it.
The narration is good, but I must mention that the recording quality isn’t. It sounds like it was recorded in a tunnel.
Bottom line: It is a fun, quick read.
