Publisher's summary

At just 10 years old, Tommy has already been through more horror than most people suffer in their entire lives. So when he’s placed in his latest foster home, under the gentle care of Abe and Alabama Powers, he lashes out. He’s scared, confused, angry...and convinced it won’t be long before these new foster parents send him away, too. No one wants a boy his age, especially one who’s broken, dirty.

It’ll take all of Alabama and Abe’s love, the sibling adoration of his foster sisters Brinique and Davisa, and Abe’s entire extended Seal family to prove to Tommy that being nice, being respectful, and opening his heart to love are things he can choose. Even still, despite so much support, it’s hard for Tommy to believe he deserves a loving family and a second chance at happiness.

Until one of the most unexpected friends arrives, just when Tommy needs him the most. He’ll show the little boy just how special he is...even if he has to use a little magic to prove it.

heartbreaking,

I absolutely love all of Susan Stoker's books. She knows how to evoke some feelings. But this one really got me. I'm kindof glad that it wasn't any longer than it was because I don't think my heart could have handled it.

Loved, Devoted and Protected.

in this whole series you get the sense that devotion is not only for a spouse or a country. in this book we continue to deal with real life issues and it gets handled as real life would. From one dealing with PTSD, one with facing a repeated rape allowed by someone who is meant to protect to a Troll that is larger than life even if he is on 2 feet tall. We get wrapped up in the down to earth touchy Feely stuff that no one wants to talk about but we deal with. Who wouldn't want a bad a** Seal Tram to rescue you and make the world make sense?

A Magical Journey

You will melt with this story. Stoker deals with some tough topics- as she often does- with grace and respect. Tommy is an abused, scared boy brought into a family with a Mom and 2 foster sisters who also battle demons. It takes some magic and the whole Seal family to have this family on solid ground.

Wonderful narration and just a pleasure to listen too

A Very Moving Story

It is so hard to come up with a headline for the review. The story has it funny moments. But it deals with Abe and Alabama's adopted children. Their daughters have already been adopted and are adapting to Abe and Alabama as their new Mom and Dad. But Tommy has just come into their home and is dealing with more than any child should ever have deal with. It is heartbreaking. I found myself crying throughout this story. And then something horrible happens just as Tommy is starting to make progress. There is a happy ending - thank goodness. The story is well written. The narration is great. I truly recommend this book especially for those who are into Susan Stoker's Seals.

can't go wrong

One can never go wrong with a Susan Stoker book. And if it's narrated by Stella Bloom it's an all new experience.
There is always a lesson in the journey. Laughter, tears, anger, and don't forget passion. Stoker knows what she's doing!

Awww....

Another hit on the Susan Stoker book list.

I loved this little story. its a little different but I think that is what added a lot of character to it. Its cute, sweet and in the end has a message. Be kind, be happy with your family and stop expecting the worst in every situation. The kids in this story stole my heart quickly. Let's not forget Gamgy! I want a little troll friend like him. He was a hoot.

I hope to see more of the SEALs and their families in the next set of books.

Not into the magic troll thing

I loved the interactions between the adults and kids I came to know throughout the series. And I really loved the interactions between Abe and Tommy. It the whole magic trill thing was too much of a stretch for me. I didn’t enjoy the paranormal twist on the world of this seal team I’ve come to enjoy. Paranormal magical creatures aren’t my thing.

Disappointing.

Not up to stoker's usual. Imaginary friend-troll??? Very short story which cost full audible credit. Skip this one unless it's feee.
