Publisher's summary

In Step

Wilkins a conservative soldier gets the shock of her life upon her first meeting with Johnson, an overly liberal journalist from San Antonio. Johnson is blunt, loud, and kind of cute but nevertheless, the exact opposite of quiet, rule-bound Wilkins.

Johnson, who happens to be best friends with Wilkins' superior, Tech Sergeant Ian Morris, ends up falling head over heels for the modest sergeant, and upon learning the nature of Johnson's feelings, Wilkins tries her best to avoid the extroverted woman, knowing that if she gives in to the promised affection, her job title and reputation will be compromised.

However, when Johnson is assigned to do an undercover story about life as an air force trainee and is asked to reside in the dormitories as a trainee, all chaos breaks loose. Wilkins ends up having to choose between love and her responsibility as a soldier, knowing that her choice may have a lasting effect on the rest of her life.

Progress

Dean, a young woman who lost her partner in a car accident, takes a job at a hotel during her time of mourning, leaving her old life behind. When a new woman, Kayla, gets hired to assist her in running the hotel, Dean gets defensive, and the two battle it out until the doors of the past are reopened.

In the meantime, Dean is called back to her side job as a private investigator and has to break the secrets behind a drug-hustling prostitution ring without blowing her cover. Dean and Kayla begin to grow close, and as everything plays out, Dean has to decide what is important in her life and if she will ever be able to let another person in without blowing her cover.

Excellent value

In Step
This book is very gritty. It had me gripped from the very beginning. Lots going on in this non stop action packed book. Great narration from Emmalyn.

Progress
This book had a twist that pretty much gave me whiplash! I should be used to Nicole and her WTF moments. Great writing and Emmalyn gives a fantastic performance.

Chased and bitten by fire

In the world of who is what and why did that happen you can get right into a steamy story of where are you now.

Interesting Stories

Well developed characters in both stories. Each story was very different from the other, the narrator Emmalyn Miles brought the characters to life and made them an enjoyable listen. The cliffhanger ending in the first story was quite abrupt and definitely left you hanging. The ending on the second story just kind of left you questing what was really going on, may have to listen again to see what I missed or didn’t miss. Both stories were both worth the listen.

Good story

I enjoyed these stories. The characters and storylines were interesting. Both stories were very different and held your attention. There are cliffhganger endings, the first story's felt very abrupt. Overall, I'd give them 3.5.
Emmalyn Miles's narration was good. At times I wanted some more emotion though but she brought the characters to life.

I'm ready for more!!!

I enjoyed both or the stories on this audio book. The characters are well thought out and just the right degree of complicated. The story lines are so drastically different and also developed in such a way that pausing the book is undesirable. Emmalyn's ability to bring the characters and story to life in a way that is suspenseful, and sensual rolled into one package is awesome. Nicole has presented two believable stories...where is the rest? I am excited for more. I would recommend this audio book.

This is a F/F story. This book was a ying and yang story. I loved the characters and the storyline. I can't wait to see what happens next. I gave In Step a 5.

Progress- I gave Progress a 3. So Progress to me was not as good as In Step. I did not care for the way that Progress didn't seem to pick up where the first one left off. I didn't get it. It left me confused. As always give it a listen for yourself and make your own conclusions.

friggen cliffhangers

First they suck me in, then they leave me hanging. I hope sequels are planned for these two novels. great writing. A word of warning, the second book has a lot of potential triggers for some people.

Two great stories in one audiobook!

Wow” what a thriller this audiobook turned out to be. There was so much consistently going on threw out the book that it was hard for me to stop listen to it at any given time. The characters of Wilkins and Johnson (In step) and of course Dean and Kayla (Progress) are well written. The romance between the two main characters is well placed into the story and the unsuspecting drama/ twist just adds to the already addictive story. Also, the narration even though at times felt a tad bit monotone, it didn’t distract from the over all story/ book.... Well done 👍

How many times?

How many times should we hear how rich this woman is in 5 minutes? Even the drama was no drama... this was a boring book and the narration so monotone...
Sorry I could not go through the whole book...
