The Life Stone

I have loved every book in this series, at the start I mistakenly thought there would be just five books one for each of the residents of Koa Point. Well as the guys have found their mates and acquired the five Spirit Stones they have decided there is a need for more protection for their mates and hopefully the children who will arrive in the future. Indeed at the start of this book we find out that twins are expected imminently!

The first step in this new stage is to hire Ella, who was introduced into the series in the very first book when she helped Tessa escape and sent her to Koa Point. Ella is a desert fox shifter who has known most of the guys since childhood, sharing a foster mother with some of them and serving in the military with the others. This makes her perfect for their security plans.

Ella has issues, she is a fighter but she is afraid to give in to love because unlike with male shifters when they find their mates everything is smooth sailing so to speak. Human women who receive the mating bite turn into whatever shifter their mate happens to be. But for a female shifter to find out her mate is a human man makes things much more dangerous, men being stronger physically than women will fight the change and often die! This happened to Ella's own mother and has left a lasting impression on her.

They also hire Jake another comrade from their military service who Ella recognised as her mate - but he's human so she has tried to stay away from him. But they are now working together can she tell him? Will Ella be able to overcome her fears, and if she does will Jake be strong enough to survive the change? Most importantly does Jake love her enough to risk everything? Will Jake accept that shifters exist and that if he and Ella get together he will become one?

On top of all this Jake has his past contend with, members of his old team in the military are being killed off one by one, is he going to be next? Will the danger he faces endanger the residents of Koa Point? Will Ella and he manage to get together finally?

This book is a great addition to the series and although it can be listened to as a standalone I would definitely recommend listening to them in order as you will get so much more from them. The narration by Kelsey Osborne is sooooooo good! She brings every single person to life, every person and nuance is different and although I read this book before listening to it her narration really brought it to life. Anna Lowe and Kelsey Osborne together are a team that in my opinion can not be improved upon. Personally I am so sorry this series has finished but Anna has opened a small doorway so hopefully there will be a follow up series.

Oh I love this story it's a wonderful add to the awsome series. The action, spice, adventure and danger. Great story. I couldn't put it down and so didn't want it to end! If your into shifter you will love this one.

Great series ending!

I cannot believe that this is the last book in the Jewels of the Heart series. I feel as though I know the characters and will miss them. I don't know how Ms. Lowe does it, but each story is different and keeps you listening to find out what will happen next. Ella and Jake knew each other previously when they were in the military and had a one-night stand. Ella knew then that he was her mate. She tries to keep her distance since he is human and she is a fox shifter. She is afraid to 1. tell him she is a shifter and introduce him to that world and 2. mate with him. It is a smoother process when the male bites the female during mating. When the female bites the male, sometimes the outcome is devastating.

The evil villain, Gideon Good, is a horrible dude and so are his cronies. I won’t say what he did and why so as not to ruin it or give spoilers.

Ella and Jake were on a stakeout mission for Silas’s wedding at a hotel posing as a newly married couple. Love the hot scenes in their honeymoon suite. I also love the self-talk of both Jake and Ella. Their inner animals are so funny. Anywho, on Silas's wedding day, something happens to Ella. During a break from stakeout duty back in the hotel room, Jake uncovered the 6th Spirit Stone (he did not know it at the time). Ms. Lowe was really clever in how she worked out the 6th Spirit Stone. When Jake touched it, he knew something was wrong, stuck it in his pocket and raced out the door. Something bad was happening to Ella. Although Jake did not understand, the stone lent him power at critical moments.

Ms. Lowe is really great at tying everything together! I missed a big clue in the beginning and remembered it in hindsight. As in previous books, the villains make you want to jump into the scene and b!tch slap them to help out the good guys.

I loved that each story was a standalone, although intertwined, with no cliffhanger and had an HEA. Even though the books do not end with a cliffhanger, each book set you up for the next one.

This series is excellent and I cannot recommend it highly enough! As I have mentioned before, I think of Kelsey Osborne as the voice of the series. She does a great job.

It was so nice being part of these folks’ lives. It would be nice to know how Boone and Nina are as their twins grow up and to find out what other couples decide to have children (I love how Boone was with his babies). I was given this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

LOVE Jake ! and Ella!

Jake is down right, take home to momma drool worthy. Ella was a darling. Her conflict and her back & forth with her fox was drawn out and dramatic. There was quite a bit of action with the story. It was a good way to wrap up the series. There was a tidbit of each of the guys and their mates. While there was a lot more that we could have learned about the bad guys, I was happy that the story wasn’t dragged down with details about the hows and wheres of the bad guys.

Kelsey Osborn continues the streak as the awesome narrator in bringing these stories to life. She creates the story in front of you bringing the words off of the pages in story teller style. Drawing the listener in as if sitting in front of her.

As the last in the series, it was still completely stand alone. Hopefully we won’t have to leave the beaches of Hawaii for long.

Foxy lady

I liked this story revolving around a female fox shifter afraid to allow her Heart to love her mate due to the fact her bite could kill him. The narrators voice had me imaging the fox jumping around and wagging her bushy tail whenever her mate was around. The fox will find out that love is stronger than she ever thought. I received a complimentary audio and I am voluntarily giving a review.

I love this series. The male characters Ms. Lowe's creates are awesome. Totally sexy hot and strong. What more could you ask for in a book boyfriend. I want a Jake in my life. So hot!!! I highly recommend this series.

Now we get Ella's love story

I always love this narrator for Anna's books. I was given a copy of this audio version by the author and even though I read the book I love to listen to it and hear the story again. I am leaving a copy of my review of the ebook.
I am very sad that this is the part book in this series, but very happy that Anna already has a new series coming for the same location. It was going to almost as hard to leave beautiful Maui and it was to leave the desert of Arizona, fortunately I don't have to worry about that yet.

Ella is a fox shifter from Arizona who served in the special forces with Silas, Kai, Boone, Hunter, and Cruz. She also spent part of her formative years being taken care of by the same owl shifter who raised Kai and Hunter on Maui. She had come to help out the shifters of Koa Point as extra security as they are a little distracted by the upcoming nuptials of Silas and Cassandra and the imminent birth of Boone and Nina's twins.

Jacob is a human whose unit did some work with Silas and company before they left the military. He had heard the strange rumors about the members of that unit being shifters, but he has no idea if they are true. Now that he has been discharged from the service he is looking for work. Boone was happy to enlist him to assist in security at Koa Point. Jake was happy to find work, and even happier to find out Ella was part of the detail.

Jake and Ella spent one night together while in a war zone. They agreed that it was a one time thing, but neither one can forget it. Ella knows that Jake is her mate. Unlike female humans, males often don't survive the mating bite of a shifter. Ella has first hand knowledge of what happens if the male is not strong enough to make the conversion to shifter. She is determined that Jake will not become a victim of her mating bite, no matter how much her inner fox insists.

The mystery shifter.

To Bite or not to bite? is the question with this story of unrequited love. l loved the Owls, kittens and all the other shifters. This is a feel good finale to the series which l recommend along with the rest of the series. Anyone who has read this authors books knows how entertaining they are and addictive too!

Great Story

I absolutely love this series. I’m a little sad that it’s ending. But it did end with a great book. Of course I can rejoice in the fact that there will be a spinoff series. I can’t wait. This book was really good I loved the main characters. They were really well written. I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook, the narrator is one of my favorites.
