Publisher's summary

Raven and Lucas embark upon a personal cruise around the Bahamas for an adventure of a lifetime. Raven discovers a mysterious wooden idol on a secluded beach just a couple of hours into their two-week journey. Her curiosity and archaeological scientific mind entices her to keep the artifact with the intention of researching its background and story. Where did this unique, seemingly non-Bahamian statue originate, and how did it land in Bimini?

Things go terribly wrong after finding the artifact. In the process of denying its supernatural power and fixing all their misfortunes, the zealous explorers form stronger bonds with friends, strangers, and, ultimately, each other. Is it all in Raves' overactive imagination, or does the idol truly have bad juju?

Breakfast in Bimini follows this couple's journey through paradise and beyond, perhaps even to another dimension.

Trouble In Paradise

Breakfast In Bimini is a captivating tale of ancient mysteries and paranormal encounters in the lush islands of the Bahamas. Raven is a young archaeologist from Florida, enjoying an island cruise vacation with her boyfriend Lucas and some friends. Eager to make the most of their vacation, the group happily spends their days exploring the islands, admiring the tropical paradise around them. Raven finds a strange and mysterious statue on the beach in Bimini, and out of curiosity she takes it with her back to the boat. Shockingly, weird and unusual events start to occur over the days that follow the finding of the statue. Raven begins to have vivid and terrifying nightmares, and the group experiences harrowing close calls at sea. Is this all just coincidence? As Raven searches for more information on the statue, she comes across a legend about ancient powerful ‘’idols’’ descended from the mythical city of Atlantis, that were revered for their incredible healing powers. In the wrong hands, however, and the same idol could be used for unthinkable evil. Could the statue Raven found actually be one of these legendary idols from Atlantis? She must find out the answer sooner than expected, because there are others looking for the statue….others who know about its powers and want it for themselves.

The author’s descriptions of the island landscapes are rich in color and detail, painting sensuous images of tropical paradise. The mystery is built slowly and steadily, as all great mysteries are. Combining ancient myths with magic, suspense, and love, Breakfast In Bimini is a satisfying adventure.

Give it a chance....

This one started out slow for me. I quit listening twice but, it must be as they say, the third time was the charm! Once I finally got into it, I was hooked. I stayed up half the night listening and, it ended up being a pretty good little book! The narration was very well done, too! I received a review copy at my request and voluntarily reviewed.

Adventure In Paradise

Mystery, adventure and romance - this one had it all! A tropical paradise was the perfect setting for this wonderful story. Although it was a bit slow at the beginning, I was completely engaged once the plot started building. I loved the twists and the ending was very satisfying. The narration was well done and I had a great listening experience. I would recommend Breakfast in Bimini.

Mystery and Romance! Adventure too!

What a wonderful book with so many twists. I loved the imagery in this story and the multiple facets the story had. The premise of the story was very intriguing to me and I loved how the tension and suspense cumulated. The Bermuda Triangle and Atlantis and lost treasures have always piqued my imagination with so many questions and what if's. This was the first book by this author that I have listened to and I will definitely look for more of her books. I thought the narrator added a lot to the enjoyment to the book with her emotions and distinguishable voices. My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it. I do not like to give away spoilers in my reviews, and with that said, I thought the ending of this story was perfection. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review.

Fun sea adventure.

This was a light fun adventure; a couple sets out with friends on a private cruise to the Bahamas. Raven finds an idol on a beach and strange unfortunate events befall the crew. The narrator did a nice job and I look forward to more by this author. I received a free review copy of this book and have voluntarily left this review.

A Bit Lackluster

I received this book for free. I am voluntarily posting this review and all opinions expressed herein are my own.

Given the very good reviews and interesting blurb, I thought this would be an action-packed paranormal story that I would love. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I found the story moved along very slowly; not a whole lot happened; and the paranormal part just kind of fizzled. Throughout the book, the MC Raven kept calling her boyfriend Lucas her lover - which kept reminding me of the SNL skit with Will Ferrell and Rachel Dratch - where they keep calling each other "luvah" and make other people feel uncomfortable with their antics. This, to me, was more like a travelogue on several islands with some minor hiccups along the way.

The narrator, Emma Lysy, did a good job and I found no issues with the audio.
