The narcissist has no inborn empathy or sympathy that would make him have guilt over torturing another human being. He looks at those displaying emotions with curiosity. The narcissist himself cannot cry. Narcissists and psychopaths, in fact, can be caught at early ages trying to mimic crying of other children. They don't really understand what it is to feel deep emotions or deep bonds with others.

The narcissist might be jarred by a death that is close to him, but not necessarily in the grieving sort of way. The narcissist might become suddenly aware that he will fail to exist at one point, if he is self-aware. Many narcissists are not self-aware at all. They are actually very prone to automation in their lives.

Narcissists continuously involve themselves in escapism or mundane tasks which busy themselves but which give them almost no pleasure. A hedonistic narcissist will do nearly anything to avoid real work or anything that reeks of effort in order to do whatever it is that is pleasurable to him at that moment in time.

great for someone living with narcissistic abuse

while it offers no suggestions for leveling the field in a custody battle, it gives good and doable advice for giving back some of what the narcissist deals.

Ridiculous

Idk what type of narcissistic ppl she knows.. but 90% of the ones I know..if a person took her advice and did these things they would be end up in a hospital if not a grave. The narcissist I know are all aggressive when they don’t get their way. They are physically or mentally abusive or both when it comes to their romantic partners. Often bullies towards others. I doNot recommend any of this advice

Great knowledge

This placed him the star sudject. Hit the nail right on the head. Yet i do dissagree with the tawnting. only because you really do not want to tawnt a narcissist. It is highly dangerous. Further more great listen.

not as productive as I thought

This book describes a narcissist perfectly, but most advice won't work from my experience. My ex husband is very smart and even after divorce, manipulates me and our children. He has taken my kids but ignoring him or trying to warn others of his behavior is futile. He is the best manipulator I've ever met and most of the advice in this book I went through when we were together. This book tells you how to antagonize him, which in my experience, just makes things worse. I want to know how to stop him and truly over come his ways so me and my children can have peaceful lives.

Not at all what I thought the book would be

Not at all what I thought the book would be. It was way too swung toward the overt narcissist it did not deal with the covert narcissist anywhere near as much as I had expected.

i loved this book.

only problem i had was we werent married, he was always broke and a drug addict.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book

it was a little short and mostly common sense and natural survival instincts but....that being said, it feels good be validated.

I knew I was right

it's like the book was based on our exact relationship. This is a GREAT BOOK!!!!
