Publisher's summary

Teacher required. Must have boat.

Molly is a predictable, no surprises, plan ahead kind of girl, and the last person who should answer the ad for a teaching job on the remote Scottish island of Lilliebrae. She's never been the type of adventurous spirit that would even consider such a radical change. And truthfully, she only took the job after her life in America went from bad to worse. From day one on the island, Molly's sure she's not meant to stay. When a rugged journeyman arrives, things get even more complicated, and she's pushed even further outside her comfort zone. With his help, Molly works on finding the beauty of perhaps.

In this snapshot of modern day Scotland, Eryn Scott weaves one woman's journey of self-discovery with Scottish tradition and a sprinkling of windswept love.

Great narrator, weird story

To be honest, I didn't finish the book. I simply couldn't get into it. Maybe I am weird or something but I thought the story was too predictable.

Magical!

I’m so happy I took a chance on this new author. This is now one of my favorite reads of the year! The writing was so beautiful in its description and emotion depicted within the characters. The picturesque island of Lilliebrae took my breath away. The island is a character all on its own. The setting is what makes the story so magical. I could close my eyes and imagine myself there. This was also due in great part to the narrator’s gorgeous accent. Elizabeth Klett’s choices of different inflections and accents for the characters work perfectly. She has a great range and it allows for all the characters to be distinguishable.

The story itself is cute and sweet, albeit predictable. There isn’t much angst or drama, as this is more of a character focused story. Molly is finding herself as she explores this new Scottish island. The teaching job forces her to navigate hurdles and gain strength and confidence that she’s severely lacking. New adventures especially follow once she meets Graeme Gates. He is a kind-hearted handyman who is known to never stick to one place for too long. He’s the complete opposite of Molly who lives on planning and organization. Their interactions showed how natural and meant to be they are for one another. They help each other grow despite not realizing it as it happens.

The two are also opposites from their parents and we see Graeme and Molly try their hardest to not be like them. This focus eventually hinders and hurts themselves and their relationships, but seeing them finally realize was so heartwarming. THE BEAUTY OF PERHAPS is a delightful reading experience and has made me want to go to Scotland to teach!

Best book in a while!

Truly fun! I throughly enjoyed this book. The Narrator did a wonderful job withe the Scottish accent. It was a bit hard to understand occasionally but there is the ease of going back to hear it again. This was a fresh and original story. A fun romance that will make you smile.

The Beauty of The Beauty of Perhaps

The Beauty of Perhaps was a beautiful contemporary romance. I was drawn to this audiobook when I saw Elizabeth Klett was narrating it. I love her voice. She did such a phenominal job with the characters in the story. Molly of course but the Scottish brogue of Gates was amazing. Her tone and voice inflections as well took this book over the top.

The story was a romantic adventure of self-discovery, reflection, and lovely visions of Scotland. The setting was fabulous along with the solid storyline. The fully fleshed out characters were very likeable. Love, love, love this audiobook and definitely recommend.

A bit of a Scottish flavor

The Beauty of Perhaps, by Eryn Scott, is a book about the journey of a woman trying to find herself and building relationships through the world. It’s my first book by this author and though I found the story predicable, it’s by no means lacking in fun and sincerity and a bit of a Scottish flavor. I think that’s what got me and made me really enjoy this book. I liked Molly (the main character) enough, but it’s the beautiful descriptions of the Scottish countryside, the picture of Lilliebrae and its inhabitants, all the adventures she finds there, what brings this story to life and make listening to it a unique experience. Elizabeth Klett has a great range of voices for male and female characters, making all characters very easily identifiable and real in their own way, and her Scottish brogue was simply a relish to listen to. She was outstanding with the delivery of the story, improving the listener experience.

I was given a copy of the audio book in exchange of an honest review and I would recommend it to everyone, but specially fans of a good Scottish story.

Delightful surprise

I absolutely LOVED this book! I was drawn in from the very beginning and could not stop listening. I stayed up all night and finished in one sitting. The narration is EXCELLENT! I've found a new favorite author and narrator to add to my list of go to's.
I received this audiobook for free in exchange for an honest review. I would definitely recommend this book; and, in fact, already have recommended to my mom, sister and mom-in-law. My mom-in-law has already read it and enjoyed it, too.

Easy, entertaining listen...

The Beauty of Perhaps by Eryn Scott is an easy, entertaining listen. It does follow a pretty standard format and is a bit predictable, but I still enjoyed it nonetheless. It's the story of Molly and Gates. Molly takes a teaching job in Scotland to escape her life for a bit. She's got a putz of an ex boyfriend and a family that she needs to take a break from. Gates is the handsome Scot handyman that she meets when she gets there. Romance blooms. You get your HEA. I don't want to give anything away, but like I said, it's a bit predictable, but still a fun listen and I'd recommend it.

Elizabeth Klett did a fabulous job narrating this story. Her accents, the emotion and unique voices that she brought to the characters was all done so well. I'd definitely listen to more of her performances. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher for an honest review.

Beautifully written

Oh how I love this book. So beautifully written. Such rich characters that I will always remember, descriptions of the wild Scottish countryside that bring it to life, and a love story that is so realistic in its vulnerability. It is a story I will enjoy reading again.
