Great Third Book!

Grace is a young woman who has not had a break in life until she receives a letter of proposal from Graham Easton to come and be his bride. When she gets to Hunter's Grove, however, things are not all that they seem to be and neither is Graham.

Graham is looking for a woman to help his family and even though he changes the rules at Grace's arrival, he cares for Grace and wants to do the best for her. The question is can he keep her even though his plans quickly start falling apart? Will Grace live out her namesake when she finds out what the secret is or will she leave the family that she has started to care deeply for?

Barb Goss weaves a wonderful story of loss, love and even deceit and how all is redeemed through grace, understanding, and forgiveness. Reagan Boggs does a beautiful performance with this book. I really enjoyed this book! Cannot wait for the next book in the series!

Sweet Short Story

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book to anyone who wanted a simple, sweet story. It tells of good people making the best of their tragedies. They are thoughtful and kind to each other.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The twist of the ruse (you'll have to read it) is slowly revealed. Quite interesting!

Which character – as performed by Reagan Boggs – was your favorite?

Grace is the character who stands out for me. Reagan Boggs was a good match. She was also able to do the male characters very well. It can be hard for a narrator to do both.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The child's view point was sweet and simple. Well done.

Any additional comments?

This book was hard for me to get caught up in, it was very simply told. It was more of an oral story with little scene setting and description. I couldn't get attached to the characters, they didn't have enough dimension for me. But I loved the plot and the way the people behaved. No cringing because you can see what's coming, they actually acted normally. Sometimes they didn't talk about the problems and then they would. As I said, a sweet and simple romance.

A Ruse that leads to Healing

Grace is a mail order bride who traveled west to find that Graham, her intended, is twice as old as her and isn't that interested in marriage to her. Graham's family went through much heartache several years prior and he will do almost anything to bring life and healing to his family. I guessed at the plot twist early on and was glad when I was proved correct. Grace does belong in this family in more ways than one.

I loved this book, the characters (alright, Graham wasn't my favorite until I guessed the ruse), the plot and the narrator. A great book all around.

Happily ever after...

I just love this type of story. So clever, so engrossing and so full of blossoming love.
The father sure was one very clever, loving and cunning individual. He had me puzzled and guessing with his strange moves.
All in all, a beautifully written love story by Barbara Goss and cleverly narrated by Reagan Boggs - love her voice acting. A great team bringing the reader/listener a real treat of a story.

Mail Order Ruse

Mail Order Ruse
: Barbara Goss

An orphaned girl becomes a mail order bride for a Kansas rancher. The plot seemed to be predictable until a couple unexpected twists that I didn't see coming. A nice little romance book. If you like a nice clean historical listen then you will enjoy this book.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Reagan Boggs brought the story to life.
