bizarre

I definitely wouldn’t call this extreme horror. It’s not overly scary or overly suspenseful. It’s just overly bizarre. Who thinks up this stuff??

It’s worth the credit. It’s entertaining and hard to put down. Even if it’s a short listen.

good read

the story line and ending were predictable but still a pretty crazy read. I enjoyed it but was not surprised at the connections in story as they were pretty obvious

Yesssss! I went into this book completely blind, with no spoilers or reviews. I just heard it was a bit violent and graphic. I knew right away that this was in my wheelhouse. As I have said before, I have no triggers, so bring it on. This book is definitely not for everyone.

This book is a volatile and bizarre rollercoaster ride, and I didn't want to get off. It's extreme and unpredictable in the best way. I have a very open mind regarding kinks and taboo subjects, but this ending caught me off guard. I mean, is this a thing? I've gotta know, but my work browser restrictions would beg to differ. I REALLY enjoyed this book.

Wow! This was one wild ride. Ralston did a wonderful job of stitching together several stories into one helluva trip.

I did not know what I was expecting but it is messed up. I really enojoyed it actually, if you are looking for something to leave you with your mouth open and a disgusted feeling I def recommend!

beautiful…in a very strange way

seems that all the reviews are just upset about sexual content. i knew a brief summary before going into this, but i was still blown away. the stories are absolutely grotesque and at times hard to listen to, but so beautifully written that i couldn’t stop. the author has a gift for really coaxing out all the empathy you have, and then making you question it at the end. the themes of birth cut incredibly deep, making you feel overwhelming pity for the main character. it’s overall just such a fascinating story that i don’t think i’ll ever forget

Not what I expected from “extreme horror”

Not a bad listen… but not what I would classify as extreme horror. I honestly liked the story but don’t agree with the genre. If you’re looking for something truly shocking and you’re an extreme horror/body horror enthusiast like myself, this may be a bit tame or even boring for you.

Not scary but brutal

If you're looking for a book to genuinely scare you in any real way, you won't get that out of this book, but if you're more interested in shock value gross out, this book can help itch that interest. Story wasn't overly interesting to me personally, and even from a gross out perspective, I think there are plenty of books and films that do it better with a more interesting plot. This is really just a time filler with no real value.
