Life on the run is no winter picnic, especially when Aurora's partner sees himself as the sheriff, not the outlaw.

It's a cat-and-mouse game across the Last Frontier, with agents and vampires out for blood while Fane searches desperately to find Aurora before rogue vampires do.

The hunters have become the hunted. And the road to freedom has never felt more uncertain.

This is a great book; this is the fifth book in the Vampire Hunter series written by Nikki Jefford and narrated by Em Eldridge and Sean Peck. This book can be listened to in one sitting if you have the time, once I started listening to it I didn’t want to put it down until the end. This was such a great read and full of surprises.
The narrators Em Eldridge and Sean Peck did a great job with this book. They did a great job with the different voices of each character in this book. It was very easy to listen to in one sitting and I didn’t want to stop listening until the end.
If you are looking for a great book with great characters then you need to listen to this book. I am looking forward to listening to the next book by this author and narrator.

A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

I'm not sure how to properly write this review. As a whole, I enjoyed Whiteout more than the other books. I feel like Ms. Jefford has gotten better with each book. Her lines are snappy and I found myself chuckling alongside Aurora and Dante for most of the book.

However, I'm starting to feel a bit of Twilight syndrome over the whole Dante/Aurora/Fane thing. I find myself wanting to root for Dante even though he stands virtually no chance. Especially in this book.

I also kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. For the whole book. I felt like I was on the cusp of some horrible disaster that never really occurred. That isn't to say there aren't plenty of setbacks and horrible encounters. There were and it was awesome, I just was waiting for the whole "Luke, I am your father" moment.

Em Eldridge was spot on as always, but the new narrator, Sean Peck, left something to be desired. He spoke so fast, it was jarring. I actually tried to slow down the playing during his parts, but that just made the file distorted. I feel like if he just slowed down his speech, it would have been fine, but as it was, I couldn't wait for his sections to end. I found myself dreading each chapter break, hoping it wouldn't go back to Fane's perspective. Thankfully, his parts were tiny and seldom occurring.

That said, the book was well done overall, and I wouldn't hesitate to listen to another one from Ms. Jefford. You know, as long as Fane isn't speaking.

Interesting

I have been enjoying this series. There were some errors in this book, unsure if narrator or author errors, that were distracting and/or confusing. Also, I did not enjoy the male narrator. The normal narrator was great, as usual.

Not the best in the series

Although I have to be completely honest and admit I am not the biggest fan of the male narrator on this one, it didn't stop me from loving this book. Jefford has given us another action packed Aurora novel with all the vampire Hunter goodness we've come to expect. I kept staying up way too late laying in bed listening to this one because it seemed as if a new wrench was thrown at Dante and Raven in every chapter. September can't get here soon enough I may have to jump the gun and read the final ebook first!! 4.5 stars

Better have your inhaler handy for this breath stealing read!
