Publisher's summary

From New York Times best-selling author Deanna Chase comes the third book in the Crescent City Fae series.

Willow Rhoswen is finally coming to terms with the fact that Talisen - the healer she thought was the love of her life - has left town and is trying to move on when a rogue vampire poisons three of Allcot's guards. With his most trusted security team on the verge of death, the notorious Cryrique leader orders Willow to bring Talisen back to New Orleans before it's too late.

But when she gets to her hometown of Eureka, California, Willow once again finds herself the target of her brother's murderer. And suddenly no one is who they seem. With spies, secrets, and undercover missions to navigate, Willow's determined to not only survive but to do whatever it takes to protect the ones she loves, all while hopefully getting her happily-ever-after.

Great story; annoying character.

Love the story, narrator was good aswell; but i couldn’t stop myself from rolling my eyes at willows annoying way of being so self centered and naive.

What An Excellent Series! Don't Miss It!

Takes a little to keep all the characters straight, but the story line for the series is great. I really enjoyed it and wished there was more to the story when it was done. Willow and Tal are so good together it's hard to wish Willow and David well. I couldn't help but groan at all the messes that just seemed to pop up for Willow , her roommate Phoebe, David, Tal and the host of supporting characters, but I loved the innovative solutions the author came up with. This is my first series of books for this author, but it won't be my last!

Not sure

Not sure if it's just the narrative or how the author wrote it but (as in the other books in this series) the main character is portrayed as whiny, simpering, and clueless. I think it's a little of both. Fortunately, the other characters make up for her many flaws. I love Tal, Phoebe, Linc and even Allcot and David. They all have excellent supporting character roles. This book has a great plot line and a fantastic ending.

Gripping plot with great characters

What made the experience of listening to Intoxicating Magic the most enjoyable?

I think it was a great combination of excellent narration with a great story! Highly recommend this.

What did you like best about this story?

This is the third book in the Crescent City Fae series and I strongly recommend that you read the books in order, as it will both significantly increase your enjoyment of them as the plot is very dependant on previous, and avoid major spoilers if you read them in order as the books reveal key plot from previous stories as important information to understand the current plot.
This was another great book from Deanna Chase, the plot this time was less about the love triangle and more about how Willow can function effectively ongoing in a relationship and in her own skin. I think this one had the most personal growth for her and many of the other characters and felt like it was a very settled ending without a lot of loose ends.
The plot was very exciting, as has been the case with all the Crescent City books, and the ending was quite surprising, with characters that were not clearly black or white, but with complex motivations and trust issues. It was fun to follow along as they discovered the clues. I really enjoyed it and look forward to reading another Deanna Chase novel soon!

What does Gabra Zackman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Honestly, I love reading books for myself on my kindle, but there are a lot of times when I need to be doing something with my hands and eyes, mostly driving to work! What Gabra brings to the story for me is an excellent narration that fits perfectly with how I hear it in my head when I read the book for myself, it makes the transition between written and audio so comfortable and effortless that I did it several times and cannot remember which bits I read and which I listened to. I love that.

story good. narration difficult to listen to

I like the story. the narrators voice has a nice tone and cadence but sentences should end in a downward tone not questioningly. it's hard to listen to. and annoying. I wouldn't buy any others with this kind of narration. too bad.

Intoxicating Magic by Deanna Chase

Amazingly adorable!!

Deanna Chase well done on an amazing series!!! The suspense and feelings connected with the story is amazing, could hardly put the book down, kept wanting to know what would happen next. A wonderful ending to top it off. I love the variety in this series and I can not wait to see if you will write about Boa Junior, that will be amazing. Gabra Zackman again well done with the read, voices on point and relayed the feelings excellently. I would reccomend the entire series.

Great conclusion. ❤️

The third book of the Crescent City Fae does not disappoint. Like the previous books we follow Willow in this crazy journey of hers. I absolutely loved this book. So much great things happens. This was the perfect ending to the book and I feel like the author did a fabulous job ending this series. It was bittersweet but I truly felt like everyone got their well deserved ending, especially David, Tal, Willow, and Beau.
I listened to the audiobook and I enjoyed it immensely. Highly recommend.
If you love the Fae and vampire world I would recommend that you pick this series up.

A great conclusion

This may have been my favorite book of the series. Willow puts her big girl panties on and starts fighting back more. I loved the conclusion of the story, I shall not give spoilers but it was great and answered a lot of questions. Though it left a few open if another book is written. I think I am going to have to restart the series because I enjoyed it so much.

Wow!

This is the third book in the Crescent City Fae series and is full of action and suprises. Willow repeatedly shows how strong she is by believing in herself and not taking the easy way out. While she did not end up with the man I had been hoping for, she did get a hea with HER perfect match, so I can't complain. A great ending to a great series!
